LEAGUE CUP 2ND RD
When is this drawn?
Is it regionalised or an open draw with no seedlings?

Not seen any details yet for draw. I think they dropped the seedings last season though.

Re: LEAGUE CUP 2ND RD
Looking at last season’s second round it was still regional but no seeding of the teams.

Pretty sure I read somewhere the 2nd round is completely unseeded, so we could draw another Premier league team. Really hope we have a good go at the Cups this year.
Re: LEAGUE CUP 2ND RD
It being drawn by two dolphins somewhere in the mid China sea, scheduled for four AM UK Time, just to build up the excitement.

An away tie at Nailsworth would be good, (never been there), but FGR have a tough away tie at Charlton to get past if they are going to get into the 2nd round draw.TheFamilyCat wrote:I think we’ll draw Forest.

Went to Burton last season, worse than a friendly. SD has no interest in this comp whatsoever.

Re: LEAGUE CUP 2ND RD
All 1st round games will be completed by 10.30pm on Tuesday night so sometime overnight (if previous season's draws are any indication) or on Wednesday I would have thought. No seedings or regional limitations mean we could be going anywhere but knowing our luck it will be The Etihad again.
Re: LEAGUE CUP 2ND RD
Can't be the Etihad as teams playing in Europe don't enter for another round. Everton or Leicester away is as tough as it could get for us.bfcmik wrote:All 1st round games will be completed by 10.30pm on Tuesday night so sometime overnight (if previous season's draws are any indication) or on Wednesday I would have thought. Notts Forrest fans lose their **** when you do it, quite amusing really. It normally curtails their 24/7 loop about winning the European Cup twice, don't you know.

But why correct BFC fans about it on a BFC supporters messageboard? Firstly, it's about as funny as falling into a 3/4 full cesspit and, secondly, the gobshites who might get in the slightest bit agitated by reading it probably can't read very well anyway.Foulthrow wrote:For sh*ts and giggles.

The oddity is that the Notts County ground is north of the Trent in the City of Nottingham whilst Nottingham Forest's ground (City Ground) is south of the river in West Bridgeford (as is the cricket ground) which is in Nottinghamshitre rather than Nottingham.

It's a typo Ive made quite a few times in the past. I usually get the "t" and miss the "r" completely. Happens most often with Yorks.... for some subconscious reason.

Re: LEAGUE CUP 2ND RD
Ahh- that explains things. I lived in West Bridgeford for a couple of years in late 70s and used to be able to walk to City Ground & TB in 6-7 minutes (bit longer for Meadow Lane). I never picked up that info to explain the anomaly.
I did hear that at one time, County bought/were given a stand that Forest got rid of and they floated it across the river- not sure if that's a myth or true. Not a lot of rivalry between the 2 sets of fans in general as far as I picked up, I knew a few locals who were happy to watch either (as I was as a neutral).

Bearing in mind our 'shadow; 11 is effectively:
Hart, Bardsley, Long, Gibson, Taylor/Pieters: Lennon, Hendrick, Drinkwater, Brady: Rodriguez, Vydra(?) - with maybe opportunities for Dunne, Koiki and Benson.
It would be brilliant to be able to give all/most of those player a start and the full 90. Plus looks an awful lot stronger than sides we've put out for some of the recent tame surrenders at Accrington and Burton - amongst others.

I'd be happy to draw either Bolton or Bury, it would be a chance to either help one out or gloat at the other.
