The top two appear to be miles ahead now.

Difficult job for Lampard with the transfer embargo but probably that’s what’s got him the job. Didn’t understand his team selection today to be honest but they could so easily have got in front and then maybe win the game.

A suggestion frm someone I work with (and I agree) is that Lampard has been appointed because the directors know that Chelsea will be poor without Hazard and with a transfer ban, and so Lampard is the sacrificial lamb. Because Lampard is a local hero, he'll get a longer leash than any outsider, and the top managers wouldn't touch the job anyway.

They played in hope, like Norwich.
The best will find you out.

What a shame that some on here can't wait to stick the boot in on Lampard. Here we have a young English coach who tries to play football the right way, who puts his faith in youth and in developing players, who got a basket case club in Derby to a Championship play off final in his very first year in management, and yet it appears nobody can wait until he fails.

"We want young English coaches to be given a chance, who've proved themselves in the lower leagues!! Blood foreigners get all the best jobs!!"

"Oh no, not that one, we don't like that one"

It’s just the English way. Don’t worry about. Based on pure jealousy.

Nothing against Lampard himself but I want to see Chelsea struggle.

I don't think people are putting the boot in,i admire Lampard for sticking to his principles, but unless Chelsea cut out the individual errors, they will struggle this season.

Kante and Willian returning will notably strengthen their midfield, and might allow their flair players more licence to create,Tammy Abraham looked out his depth yesterday though.

If Lampard can get them into the top 4 with that squad he'll be a manager of the year contender.
