and quite rightly his last.

A few decent players on that Pic (decent in so far as we could have stayed above 22nd in the 4th Division) Kevin Hird but think he left before the Orient season as did Biggins (played top flight football), and big Vince Overson-so maybe not.
Holtyclaret wrote:Haha I thought for the last few weeks that the 73/74 team above was the 78/79 team and it was David holt in between dobbo and casper. So wrong, is it Paul Fletcher (trip to specsavers me thinks)
From the picture in post#50 by Holtyclaret, I have no recollection whatsoever of the above player, Billy Wright. Anyone got any info on him?

If so, he was on the BBC News channel just last week reviewing the newspapers.

Stan on back row next to Chris Nicholl, one that slipped through our fingers.

It's not the Orient season - it's 1985/86 with Buchan & then Cavanagh so we still had Hird, Biggins, Overson, Alan Taylor who had all gone before the Orient season.
ClaretTony wrote:Nicholl went because of eye problems. He signed for Witton Albion and then went to Halifax. He went on to play in the top flight after discovering contact lenses.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but this is 'my' Burnley strip.

Looking at that side - do they just look older ? I’ve played against the ex Claret veterans team a couple of times and most of them looked younger than that team ! Got to be an average age of well into 30s surely !
