Come on you Latics :D

Innit brilliant reading the Championship table....

In the Lancashire Blackburnegraph certain Woe-vers Trolls referred to it as the "Fizzy Pop" League when they were in the PL ....

I think someone forgot to screw the top on their "Pop bottle"   cos its going flat for them AGAIN :D :D :D

What thrills me, more than just the results, is that as we watch the last rotten remains of Bolton Wanderers trickling down the bog, we can see an identical scenario panning out at Ewood Park.

We have the same hordes of half-witted grotbags baying for big time spending of money their grubby little club will never earn...and nobody wanting to consider that their pride and joy exists now purely on the whim of a bunch of third-world chancers, who, at any time they're in the mood could flush them down the crapper in an instant.

A defeat against Oldham and a couple more poor results could herald the end for Mowbray.
I do hope so, He's far too decent a guy to be there, and if he does go I think they might disintegrate.

I agree. Mowbray was a far too sensible appointment and there has been far too much stability of late. They need to pot him and hire some nuggets again.

Interesting times at Deadwood.

The sale of their "main man" Mulgrew to Wigan, would indicate to me that they have to reduce their salary costs again.

Could be a long season with a bit of luck 8-)

I'm was worried after selling Mulgrew after all he took them to league one. Saturdays result makes me have more confidence!

Outside of the carabao, they have
Home vs. Boro
At Hull
Home vs. Cardiff
At West Brom.....

Could easily only have 1 point from their first 6 games. I believe they have 2 shots total on goal in their first 2 weeks.

Where do you reckon they'll get a point? I would think a point is wildly optimistic....or rather pessimistic lol

I can see their one point.. Boro have not started well and they have that drongo Woodgate in charge. He is as thick as a Plank.

at hull maybe? I think even 0 points from their first six games, they won't fire Mowbray.

Their owners seem to be completely uninterested in the day to day activities and seem content to just keep writing a check to cover their costs.

Is he though?

I heard an interview with him recently and he came across pretty well, which must be difficult if he's that thick.
He's got a clear idea of what he wants to do etc.

cricketfieldclarets wrote:Does anyone actually know what the venkys aim is

Genuine question.

Initially it was clearly a "status" aquisition, with potential tax benefits no doubt.

Mismanagment, ignorance and disinterest turned it into a white elephant.

Venkys are clearly no longer interested in Blackburn, but know that they aint getting their money back and that the amount of wonga needed for a genuine Prem push is getting astronomic, with no assurance of success.

It's not a saleable asset...pulling the plug risks damage to the Venky brand.

So they will stick with it for now..getting by on as little investment as is needed to keep them in the championship, until they either give it away to cut their losses, or if times are harder they assett-strip the whole shebang, and we can then all go shop at the new Ewood branch of Waitrose or the big Riverside Chicken Shack.

Boro' off to a very poor start - not a 'must win' game for either at this stage but might just fall into the 'must not lose' category

I was pleased and shocked when Mulgrew left. Having no interest in researching them, did Jack Rodwell stay on?
2 shots in 2 games is consistent.

Don’t be like them lot, I remember they once opened a thread similar to this on BRFSC.com in August 2008... We were bottom of the Championship after 2 loses to Sheff Weds & Ipswich... We won the play offs that season.

Early days yet.

Yep, the kind of thread that will come back and haunt us. Lots of “we’ll walk a European spot whilst that lot go down” thoughts. After we’ve played 1 game......

Dack wouldn’t make our bench, at his best. He’s found his level.

Interestingly Mulgrew was on 99 league appearances for Rovers before his last minute move to Wigan! Must have been due to trigger a new deal or payment with a 100!

Rodwell only played for the 18/19 season.

A bit of an interesting case if Rodwell. Seemingly a good player, left for Man City and has been unheard of since. Only 28.

Looks like the Venkys are now running a tight ship and it could be sink or swim. They have brought in Gallagher for 5 million, obviously think his value will rise. They have made a few free transfer and loan signings, but notably reduced their wage bill, by getting rid of Mulgrew on a season long loan.

Rovers are looking like they have not got the backing of the Venkys any more to compete at championship level, it will only be time before they drop back to league 1 and the Venkys finally pull the plug

Manchester United are our main rivals now followed by man City then Liverpool. I think T'ruwvers have grievances with Stanley and Oldham these days.

They once said something similar when they were above us. Don't stoop to their level, it was and always will be ******* rovers our rivals. Enjoy it though, however people really do need to realise that the lyrics to no nay never is now 'will we play' instead of 'til we play' .

They're only one more relegation away from playing Stanley in the league, when was the last time that happened?
Would we no longer be their nearest rival or local derby?

Agent Tony has been given a free role from Gawthorpe HQ this season and we are reaping the rewards

Didn't the same troll call it the 'chumpianship' at that time as well? I wonder how things are going at the 'cradle of football'? It's nice to see they've got off to a flying start. Keano will be sat in his Shadsworth bedsit now crying over his pot noodle and convincing himself they are just giving the others a head start. Comedy gold - Rovers, the gift that just keeps on giving.
