I’m sorry but you would have more fun sticking pins in your eyes. This is not even mildly amusing.

Should have mentioned it's likely to be either very funny or, as you say, Hibs, 'not even mildly amusing'. That's Bob Mortimer for you, I suppose......Hibsclaret wrote:This is not even mildly amusing.

Jeez, that is dire. Not even the slightest hint of humour in there!

Could not agree more. When he is good he is the best comedian you will see. When he is bad it is embarrassing...maybe that's what you get with talented folkGoddy wrote:Should have mentioned it's likely to be either very funny or, as you say, Hibs, 'not even mildly amusing'. Look up Bob Mortimer on Would I lie to You and you will have tears of laughter
But on Vic and Bobs big night out there are some very barren patches

Bob Mortimer always has and still does an excellent job
of proving that Vic Reeves was the funny one in their partnership.

I wouldn't even find that mildly amusing if it was about Bstards and Mowbray.
One of those comedians that rely on emperors new coat humour and no doubt a paid friend or two to feed his ego with forced laughs.

The Sean Dyche caricature is part of Bob's contribution to the 'Athletico Mince' podcast, much of which pokes fun at Premier league players/managers and you need to understand it in context. The 'Gangs of the Premier League' feature is Bob at his brilliant best.
We all laugh at different things though, and I understand people who just don't find it amusing.

Thought it was funny. Can see some people taking offense to it on here. Thou shalt not criticise Burnley FC in any way, especially if you're a Middlesbrough fan...even if its a joke.

It's not funny, but I love Bob Mortimer and a lot of stuff he's done. His recent desert island discs is superb

Gangs of the Premier League is brilliant, as is his manager stuff with McLaren, Pardew, Allardyce etc. Hair IiiiiislandBigRedrose wrote:The Sean Dyche caricature is part of Bob's contribution to the 'Athletico Mince' podcast, much of which pokes fun at Premier league players/managers and you need to understand it in context. He just riffs nonsense, it's not a crafted bit of sitcom writing. The medium of that podcast from a comedy perspective naturally has a random hit ratebfcjg wrote:Isn't a joke meant to be funny though ?

Athletico Mince is superb, he’s wrote some of his best stuff for it. Personally find the Dyche riff hilarious.

Depends who you speak too. As I said some people may not find it funny because he mocks Burnley. Some may just not find it funny because it isn't their taste.bfcjg wrote:Isn't a joke meant to be funny though ?

I love the fishing series, two funny blokes having a laugh.
As for his tales on WILTY, the dental story is one of the funniest, ever!

Re: ...and that's the Burnley way...
Never been a fan of Bob Mortimer, up until I saw him on would I lie to you and he had in stitches, along with Henning Wehn has some unbelievably funny stories. He can break an apple in half with his bare hands which I have never seen anyone do.

It's brilliant, like almost everything Bob Mortimer does.

All about opinions of course but personally I love his athletico mince podcasts - they are brilliant.
The fishing series he is doing with Paul Whitehouse is my favourite thing on TV at the moment - beautifully filmed and totally unscripted...just 2 very naturally funny men.
Been one of my favourite comedians for many years.
Any fans who have not heard him on desert island discs have a listen - recorded earlier this year. Bobs had a very interesting life

Very funny.
Happy that we've relevant enough that we permeate popular culture, bastards would love to have the **** taken out of them on various media, but they don't even warrant a mention on footy shows now.

Never really seen much of him other than on Would I Lie To You. Started listening to the Athletico Mince podcast about 12 months ago and I love it. His Dyche feature is a fairly recent addition to the podcast and although I don’t think it’s close to the best stuff on the pod, I do find it amusing.
His Peter Beardsley feature is always hilarious though as is the gangs of the EPL
