Wolves game?

Post by bfcmik » Tue Aug 13, 2019 11:20 pm

Is this game not likely to be moved to the Sunday given Wolves will almost certainly be playing their Europa League 4th Qualifying Round tie on the Thursday - just 2 days before our fixture.

Certain to be moved to the Sunday but don't know why it's taking so long to announce it.

Bit if a joke really.....my own fault etc but live on the Isle of Man....son lives in Worsthorne.....

Love our trips with Accy Clarets but that weekend is Bank Hols....so flight across is now a fortune, Prem Inn in Burnley not cheap, tickets, coach etc, and still not confirmed times so just can’t do it......

But hey ho, always another trip!

Reported by Burnley that it will be moved to Sunday should Wolves progress in Europa League so I expect it to be confirmed on Friday.

Probably because they haven't got through the third round yet.

I must admit, I assumed they hadn’t moved it yet out of respect for their opponents on Thursday evening.

Is that a bad thing if that’s why?

Their 47 supporters already made the visit to Armenia for last week's 4-0 win. They will, almost certainly, play Torino away on the Thursday before they play us.

If Wolves game is Sunday then Sunderland game will probably get moved to Wednesday so most likely lots of team changes for the cup game with Liverpool to come at home on the Saturday.

If they could replicate our performance away at Fulham last season after our Europa away trip then that would be much appreciated

Watched that 'no show' in a bar in Copenhagen full of Danes in Wolves shirts. Couldn't tell what they were saying but they were laughing all the way through it.

But they are 4 up from the away leg, so surely common sense says that they are certain to win the tie.

Pretty sure no decision has ever been made on a team being ‘certain’ to win!?

Would have made more sense to just move it to the Sunday as soon as the fixtures came out.

I do think that it's a fair assumption, unless you think that they may get beat at home by 5 goals!

Reminds me of the time when Fulham lost 10-0 away to Liverpool in the first leg of a League Cup tie. The second leg programme set out what would happen if the aggregate scores were level after 90 minutes.

It's also a fair assumption that it'll be moved to the Sunday.
