I'd be surprised if attendances are not lower this season than last.

Anyway all is irrelevant
We had 17,863 home fans v Southampton
Last season in our first home game v Watford we had 17,758 fans.

Haha. I’ve seen enough games these past few decades which made my eyes burn to avoid that tag, but the Accy game the other year, and what we’ve done against other lowly sides, is too recent in the memory to ignore completely. £10 and £2 kids I’d be tempted to go on and take the young one on. They’re still on holiday from school so one late night wouldn’t be an issue. Those prices have made my mind up.

The prices are what they are ..... if some don't wish to pay it then thats their prerogative.

I have ordered ours and am quite happy thanks :)

We have 4 ST in the family stand, but one of them is for my 5yo nephew, but as it’s night game he won’t be going so we were thinking of moving to Longside but won’t be if it’s going to cost me £20 instead of £15 to have own seat

Same prices that Stanley charged this week
They need the money, we don't
An example of fans being unappreciated and that includes the away fans who will have a long night of travelling
I'm fortunate that the money is not the thing but I won't be going on principle
Somewhat ashamed of these prices

So it’s probably a club decision then just to try and make as much cash off the Sunderland fans as possible.

How is it?
If a Sunderland is a STH it’s still £15 and they as a club would have had to agree with the prices

I suspect we decided £15 without offering £10. Could be wrong but that’s what it smells like.

Given that they didn't sell that many tkts the whole gate receipts would have been minimal, so can't see why Sunderland would insist on higher prices

So you really think that we've decided to charge £15 instead of £10 and risk p***ing off a lot of home fans just so the club will make an extra £5/10k from the away fans!

It's the price of a pint and half in town before the game.

£10 / £15. Is it that big an issue?

A shout from the back in a miserable tone
"What ... every bloody Wednesday"

The money is of no concern and I’ve already got my ticket. I just thought it would be a tenner, £15 just seems a bit of a rip off for a league cup game against L1 opponents.

But as I’ve said, I’ll be there, as always.

How do you come to that conclusion? 90/95% of those seats are already taken by season ticket holders.

No idea which ones are season ticket holders. There were however a lot more empty seats then previous seasons. And there were a lot of empty seats in there in previous seasons.

Prices at this round should be fixed at say £10 for Adults for all clubs regardless of ST holder or not and a £5 for kids. The clubs shouldn’t be allowed to alter the prices.

The issue with pricing it to suit your club is when the secret is let “ out of the bag” like a few years ago when Karen Brady went public with our refusal to agree to a lower price for the FA Cup tie

Can only assume you mean the 5th round of the FA Cup in 2011 - the only time we've played against Karren Brady's team in the FA Cup I think. These were the prices.

The majority who moan about the price difference between a £15 to £10 are the ones who wouldn't attend if they opened the gates for free
These moaners think nothing of ******* their hard earned cash up against the wall or spunking it down the bookies

Which is their choice.

Most people have a value on things, and if the price goes above what they think is a fair deal then don't go.

First of all, the wide range of moans, complaints against the club in general no longer surprises me. Yet complaints that we don’t take cup competitions seriously annoys me. The reason being is that I always want my team to win every single game they play, even though I do know that we will draw some and even lose one or two. We rotate occasionally in the league and always in the cup games to give squad players game time. To suggest that these players are instructed to lose, or are expected to lose is a wild assumption. Even if it is only to get another game in the next round the players will be trying their best to progress. Arsenal and other ‘big clubs’ often get to the later stages of ‘cups’ by rotation so it doesn’t always end in failure and maybe I’m wrong but why anyone would think that if we ‘tried harder’ in the cups we would be getting to cup finals. It is still usually one or two of the ‘big 6’ contesting the majority of cup finals.
Why would we further drop prices for cup games than we are already doing if we are trying to do our best in a cup competition. The bigger question is why would fans of any club expect better results in a cup competition than in any other game?
We have been subject to ‘giant-killings like West Ham and other clubs. Just like we hope to be on the right side of a ‘giant killing’ when we are drawn against a ‘bigger club’.
Patience and understanding required. Yeh, I know .......

You mean a bit like Leeds valuing Phillips at £30m and Burnley thinking a fair deal is £20m. :D

It's their only way to influence the price for the next cup match.

Well, along with non attending.

I've been trying to purchase 5 tickets for my group (all season ticket holders) but the system says 'The system couldn't reserve this seat for you. Please choose a different seat'. Anyone had a similar problem or if you've managed to purchase your seat please can you let me know how you managed to do it?

Just tried again and after logging on and clicking on the game it's now put tickets for all my Friends and Family in my basket but I only want them for 5 of them! Help.

Sorted now but I had to buy them through my wife's F and F. Anyone else had problems purchasing tickets?

Spoke to Andy Holt tonight
It is a joint decision based on what the home team suggest
At Stanley they agreed on £15 as tops but no excess for non ST's

Just went online and all the seats are in my basket thanks to the "Friends and family" who I have registered.

No problem

Cheers but don't know why it puts a ticket in the basket for everyone in your F and F whether you want them or not.

It’s always been like that. I spoke to ticket office about it once and they said there is nothing they can do about it and you have to manually deselect the ones you don’t want. I have about 20 F&F and only wanted to buy my ticket so it was a pain.

Anybody know how you get your ST seat online?

They usually show automatically in basket and you remove the ones you don’t want but they aren’t showing

I think the automatic option is removed when they go on general sale (from today). I bought two for a relative today and non of my Friends and Family that are registered with myself automatically appeared in my basket. For the previous two days when I’ve been buying tickets they appeared as soon as I logged on.

You’ll probably just need to do it manually by clicking on your relevant area of the ground.

They were in general sale from the beginning though so that hasn’t changed

Securing area won’t allow you to select seat because it’s not available and won’t be loaded onto the card
