You'd think the club would be encouraging people to go on with reduced prices.

Bigger competition the FA Cup, back in January, we charged £10 (£5 concessions) across the board and that was for Barnsley who, like Sunderland, were then League One. I'm very surprised at these prices.

Same prices as the recent friendlies

I’m not sure if that means they are classing this as a “friendly” or those games as competitive

Do teams still have to agree the prices together?

The guys deciding on tickets prices obviously take this cup more seriously than the gaffer.

It's to blatantly get as much money from a travelling support as they can.

Uploaded to our season cards....

Some whining going on about prices ..... no pleasing some folk is there

Reminds me of the old joke about the Strike meeting at Fords in the 70's

The Union convenor stood at the front and with a megaphone told the assembled crowd.
"We have negotiated a 9% pay rise, 10 weeks paid holiday a year, and you only have to work Wednesdays"

A shout from the back in a miserable tone
"What ... every bloody Wednesday"

2 questions

So if a season ticket holder, can you choose to sit elsewhere and still get the deal?

If you want to bring on an extra friend or family who dont normally go, will they be charged the higher prices, even if attending with multiple other season ticket holders and purchased together and next to them?

The season ticket price is for the season ticket holder only based on sitting at his/her own seat

Sorry if I am being a little dumb as I have only skim read the pricing but there appears to be two sets of prices. is this the difference between STH's and non-STH's?

Does that mean that as I don't hold a season ticket that it would be £20 for me to attend? If so then that is a ridiculous price for a 2nd round tie against league 1 opposition.

Lower price is for a season ticket holder loading his ticket for his own seat onto his card. Otherwise it’s the higher price.

I can only assume the League One opposition you refer to have had some say in this because we only charged £10 last season for a League One club in the FA Cup.

Thanks Tony.

In that case I guess I won't be attending or taking on the kids who I was hoping to start taking this season in preparation for potentially all getting ST's next year.

Really. As a non-season ticket holder it would only be costing you an extra £5 and £2 each for the kids!

And it’s £34 for a game against a League One club.

Correct but only £9 more than it would be for season ticket holders. Another incentive to be a ST holder.

Yes, that may be true but the fact is that everyone has their limits and this has passed what I find acceptable for this level of game.

Not that I need to explain myself but if a ST had been an option this year financially then myself and my eldest would have had one and probably wouldn't have done the cup games.

The fact is the club don't need "new fans" (I had a ST up until about 11/12 season when the eldest was born) and I'm happy that this is the position we are in rather than it being easy for us to get tickets in a lower league but I was just pointing out that I feel the prices are excessive (personally feel it should have been £10 for STH's and a maximum of £15 for non) and that this has now put us off attending.

I'd think twice about watching our reserves put in a half hearted performance in a competition our manager doesn't take seriously if it was free to get in, never mind £15.

So say if I want to take a child on for their first game, but dont want to let them have the CFS experience due to the noise and shocking facilities, I will be charged more if i want to take them in the family stand instead of my usual seat?

Is that correct?

Hi Goobs - I certainly do understand that people have financial restraints. I was just pointing out that for non-season ticket attendees it is only slightly more than for ST holders. However, I do feel that you're incorrect in saying that the club don't need new fans. The club can't afford to not continue to attract new fans and I think that giving added benefits for ST holders in the form of cheaper cup tickets is another effort to encourage/entice fans to become ST holders. Anyway, hope that your kids do get on the Turf soon and become fans of the future. UTC

I wasn’t that interested in this anyway, mainly because of Dyche’s disinterest in any cup competition, but the £15-20 price has put me off. I’m not paying that to see what will be a worse performance than a pre-season game.

If they get through a couple of rounds then maybe it’ll pique my interest, but I’m not holding me breath.

Quid a kid and ten pound for adults.

Get the next generation watching.

Less than 18k home fans on Saturday against Saints. Are ST sales down despite more seats available?

A Family stand thats full of adults that have been there years won't get the next lot on. Next best is cheap cup games.

Iam another one who thought the gate was poor on Saturday. We don't seem to be building our support base, despite having 6 seasons of the last 10 in the Premier league

The gate of 19k+ was a strange one, as on the online ticketing there only seemed to be around 200 seats available, so was really surprised that the gate was less than 20k.

PS - Couldn't see where there was supposed to be nearly 2000 empty seats?

With over 500 more Southampton fans. So on opening day we were over 500 down on home fans from the same fixture last season

But with saints bringing more than last time, and a few extra home fans as it was the opening fixture.

I'd be surprised if attendances are not lower this season than last.

Anyway all is irrelevant

Do the ticket prices have to be agreed by the away club?

Get the next generation watching.

Less than 18k home fans on Saturday against Saints. Are ST sales down despite more seats available?

A Family stand thats full of adults that have been there years won't get the next lot on. Next best is cheap cup games.
Why?

Let's make as much money as we possibly can whilst we can.
Who needs fans, when we are awash with the millions of premier league money.

I'm guessing the official attendance on Saturday counted all the season ticket holders who were away on holiday or didn't attend for whatever reason as well.
Anyway back to the Sunderland game I was in 2 minds about it, but 20 quid to watch us make 9 changes and put in another half arsed cup display has made my mind up for me.
