Corn Flakes
Was buying some today in Tesco when the man on the till explained that cornflakes were invented because Dr Kellogg believed eating plain food stopped people masturbating. You learn something everyday.

Re: Corn Flakes
Very good film about Kellogg, played by Anthony Hopkins. He ran a clinic, and yes vankers were something he thought led to madness. He believed corn flakes would be a wonder treatment for all manner of inflictions... also one of the first to advocate colonic irrigation as far as memory serves.pushpinpussy wrote:Was buying some today in Tesco when the man on the till explained that cornflakes were invented because Dr Kellogg believed eating plain food stopped people masturbating. I was advised that muesli is not a particularly healthy breakfast because of the amount of sugar even in the reduced sugar offerings. I was advised that corn flakes were even worse. I'll stick with my porridge.Steve1956 wrote:Come on...Corn Flakes, who eats that shite nowadays,I'm a muesli man myself.

Re: Corn Flakes
Never have breakfast and haven't for as long as I can remember. First time I eat something during the day is usually a banana at break time.
From what I remember of them though though, corn flakes are just a soggy bowl of sugar.

Oh I've had plenty of fry ups, but if I'm having one I reserve it for match days only, and it's usually around 11 by the time I'm tucking into one.Aclaret wrote: You've never had a fry up or a sausage butty for your breakfast?
Will have to be earlier one tomorrow though or I'll miss the game

I can confirm that eating cornflakes does indeed curtail the inclination to bash the bishop; that coupled with an over observant waiter in the Holiday Inn whilst I was reading the Sunday Sport at breakfast.

Porridge is an amazing food. I have got into thr habit of having it for breakfast every day. One of the best foods for your heart. Somehow unclogs your arteries to and from your heart and massively lessens your chances of having blood clots. One of the real super foods. Bit bland on its own mind
