And Gleeson gets the third.
All being well we should collect our 24 points later on today.

138 all out .... maximum points win, by an innings and 150 runs, against the team lying in 2nd place !

Only three CC games left now and that maximum points win will surely secure promotion with if I'm not mistaken four teams going into the first division.

Re: Lancs v Glamorgan - County Championship Div 2
ty, I think it's three teams go up, and one comes down from the first division.
A quick calculation shows we need 31 more points to make promotion mathematically certain. In reality we'll need far fewer than that.

I think, it's 3 promoted and one relegated, from what I've heard ...tybfc wrote:Only three CC games left now and that maximum points win will surely secure promotion with if I'm not mistaken four teams going into the first division.

Re: Lancs v Glamorgan - County Championship Div 2
Cracking win for Lancs, against a decent side, promotion is nailed on,now a Divison 2 championship/T20 double would be nice.
Crazy game at Canterbury,Essex trailed by 112 on 1st innings, and then promptly bowled out Kent for 40,so they need 153 to win,a lot will depend on Alistair Cook,Sam Cook took the small matter of 7-23.

Why is this? Are they restructuring the leagues?lakedistrictclaret wrote:ty, I think it's three teams go up, and one comes down from the first division.

Three teams promoted this season and one relegated. 2020 will revert to two promoted and two relegated.

Yes.claret10 wrote:Why is this? Are they restructuring the leagues?
This season there are eight counties in the first division and ten in the second.
Next season it will be the other way round.
I'm not sure of the reasoning behind it.

Could they be paving the way to introduce a couple of the minor counties into Div 2 in the near future?lakedistrictclaret wrote:Yes.

Scotland and Holland would make sense, or perhaps Ireland, although their new test status may preclude that ...claret10 wrote:Could they be paving the way to introduce a couple of the minor counties into Div 2 in the near future?
Re: Lancs v Glamorgan - County Championship Div 2
It would be good for Scottish cricket if they could enter a county teamClarets4me wrote:Scotland and Holland would make sense, or perhaps Ireland, although their new test status may preclude that ...
But I'd imagine there'd be one or two minor counties with a strong case
