Top 2 playing each other. Lancs let Glamorgan off the hook, finishing on 257 after being 145 for 8. Lancs 58 for 0 in reply.

Glamorgan scored 112 runs off 12 overs for last two wickets if the BBC stats are to be believed

Probably correct as their no. 10 scored 51 off 30 balls including 6 4's and 2 6's and the no. 11 scored 32 off 20 balls with 4 4's and 2 6's.

Lancs now 68 for 1 but off for rain.

It's a very small ground so there should be plenty of sixes on offer.

Good day could and should have been even better, but Lancs set fare for a decent 1st innings lead if all goes to plan tomorrow,Jennings approaching 50 hope for his sake he can go big 100+,it would do his confidence a world of good, and with England's opener troubles he might yet play a part in the Ashes,or more likely the upcoming tour of New Zealand.

Lancashire moved on to 191-4 at lunch, Jennings 77 and Vilas 40, still trailing Glamorgan by 66 runs, with 6 wickets in hand.

Remember, one of the wickets down is Bohannon, the night-watchman ...

Already gained all 3 maximum bowling points and 8 runs away from their first batting point with just over half of their 110 first innings overs bowled.

Lancs already are in a position where they cannot be caught at the top of the league this week but a win would be brilliant.

Please rain. The 59 that our top batsman scored replacing Steve Smith for the Aussies was seriously missed and I can't see Glamorgan winning this one without him.

And I can't see the Aussies dropping him. He looks a very accomplished player and may well take Warner's place in the next test.

Meanwhile England have named an unchanged 12 man squad for the 3rd test at Headingley.

300-5 after 82 overs, century for Vilas, what an inspirational skipper he is,Lancs well placed to claim another victory. :D

Shame Jennings couldn't reach his hundred(out for 86),but that spell in the middle will have served him well.

Glamorgan have used 7 bowlers to little effect.

Just a query why no Hameed or Parkinson, are they injured or were they not selected by choice.

No surprises there then he's looked scratchy all season.

Moeen's figures for Worcestershire today in his 33rd over 0-108,hardly the boost he and England would have been looking for.

Yes- Vilas has been an excellent servant of LCCC this year in both short & longer games.
They should easily get the 4th batting point here (to add to the 3 bowling points) and even 5 points looks a possibility (certainly if Vilas stays in scoring nigh on a run per ball).
Hopefully we can win from here and put distance between us and Glam. It looks like Gloc will be nearest challenges after this round maybe, they are in a decent position at the mo v Derbys.
Looking forward to seeing Lancs down The Oval again next year (assuming Surrey dont get relegated).

19 overs to get 65 and maximum batting points and then a couple of days and a session to cart on and make it count and secure a win.

Think England would be better off forgetting about Mooen for the rest of the summer.

Leach looked a better bowler than Moeen but to be fair Moeen has been a match winner many times for England ( with bat and ball)

I agree Mooen has done a good job for England in the past but both his batting and bowling look all over the place at the moment. No way you can throw him back into the pressure/spotlight of an Ashes test match.

Pity there's no extra point at 450 the way they're progressing.

I've never been to the Colwyn Bay ground, it's a fairly routine venue for Glam v Lancs I think. It's a long way from Glamorgan but Glam is pretty much a de facto Wales team isn't it?

They play at Cardiff, Swansea, Colwyn Bay and Cresselly ( where ever that is)

Well done that man, came in at 137-4 when we were still 120 short of Glam, now over 200 in the lead; superb effort.
I hope we can capitalize on his contribution, weather looks favourable for the next day and a half at least.

Amazing progression- just looking at the stats.
When Lamb (who got 49) was out, Lancs were 455-7. Now 538-8 so 83 scored.

Baily out for 4, Mahmood 4 not out, the other 75 are Villas (with a few extras I guess).

The great Dane finally dismissed for a career best 266 539-9 now,so Glamorgan will bat tonight i think, tricky session for them to survive.

Amazing innings and he's scored so quickly that Lancs have ample time to push for a win.

Jones and Lamb played important support roles for the captain.

It's part of England-beyond-Wales, near Pembroke Dock and Tenby.
Also the odd match gets played at Abergavenny, which is a nice little town for a visit.

You will find that a lot of umpires who played County cricket officiate matches with the teams that they played with.

I saw a game few weeks ago when Rob Bailey was umpiring a Northants match where he played many times in first class county matches.

It's something that's never been a concern in cricket. I've seen Lancs games in the past umpired by two former Lancashire players.
