He should have been booked for the first dive he got away with. 2nd one was a nailed on dive + quite rightly booked.

Take away some of the sloppy passing and United are looking well. Wan Bissako looks a player.

Wolves at home not looking like themselves from last season.

I wonder what's changed... {Cough} Europa {Cough}!

Well when you watch it again keep your eyes on the defenders back foot which is in the air, and it is that foot that causes James to go down. Just an accident, certainly not a dive and definitely not a card.

For a split second Moutinho thinks he’s being penalised.

Watched it closely and I don’t think there is any contact. I think Moss has got the yellow spot on.

Not impressed by Wolves so far but no doubt they will be awesome against us. United look very strong and quick.

Not watching but hoping for a United win with Wolves spending a lot of time and energy chasing lost causes followed by more of the same, with the addition of a disruptive and debilitating Italian round-trip, on Thursday/Friday.

I’d have liked to have seen VAR used for the dive but whilst the game was allowed to continue. The man in the van could take his time, get it right, and then any card handed out. The player would need to be told he is under review in case he picked up a second yellow.
I also thought there was enough contact, as in post7, not to book him.

Indeed :-)

Will be interesting to see what they do if the Torino tie is in the balance when they play us. They've got more depth than we had at this point last season but it would still be a massive gamble to rest a few - although hopefully that's what they'll do!

Imagine if you could have just celebrated that goal properly - an amazing, brilliant goal, rather than having all excitement sucked out of it.

The Wolves fans said it best....

"F*ck VAR, F*ck VAR" and repeat.

Struck it well but no. 29 should have blocked it. I would be disappointed if one of our defenders had turned his back and ducked.

All the pre-invested pundits saying VAR will speed up with us but If that's what's needed every time it never will.

Some football bureaucrat still needs to drag some lines around a frame until satisfied.

VAR only checked for an offside which was pretty tight to be fair. Killing football hahahaha

Give your heads a shake. VAR is great making all the checks. We all complained when goals were scored that were offside or handball or both. What’s not to like? Unless you are closet Arsenal fans + on the wrong messageboard?

There will always be controversy. Then there this new hand ball rule which wants scrapping. Danny Mirphy called it right by saying its going to make the game less enjoyable to each and I agree.

It took less time than the Arsenal players delayed the game pretending to be injured on Saturday.

Miserable Murphy has been stealing complaining about dodgy decisions by refs for years. Now that has been fixed with VAR. Happy days

The fact as time goes on there will be no spontaneous celebration for any goal as supporters will just have to wait until the VAR check is over!

The case for VAR is that, as goals in football are so important, it's worth taking a little bit of time to check that they are valid.

By checking many seconds before, pixel by pixel the player who played the ball from the short corner to the player who passed the ball back to the player who passed the ball to the player who scored a goal of the season contender.

Thrilling stuff.

For me the spontaneous eruption if celebration from 20k like minded fans from all walks of life, whether that be rich, poor, grieving, celebrating to totally new fans, which totally prioritises for that brief time znyth8ng that is going on in your life, will no longer be there because of VAR.

All the help built in for the big clubs and yet Wolves are playing Monday, Thursday in Turin and then Sunday against the best. That seems ludicrous and unfair.

Twitter is full of

He has missed more pens in the past year than we have had in the past 3 seasons I reckon

I can't ever remember hearing United's travelling support so quiet. You can see why Wolves stick away fans in that lower tier down the side, makes it so hard to get any kind of atmosphere going.

To get to four pens in the Premier League you have to go back to Feb 2017, Gray at Swansea.
