It's a shame really. The swastika, I mean. It's a fairly cool shape with a cool meaning, massive history and with loads of cool uses and all of that's been completely ruined.

The Nazi’s turned it around. The Ancient Greek version is still a sign of peace... though it has gone somewhat out of fashion since the 1930’s...

Did they turn it around, or just twist it 45 degrees? There's plenty of ancient swastikas with the legs in the same direction.

Indeed, interesting point. Think the Romans turned the Greek, which makes sense with Hitler’s obsession with Rome. Of course the symbol in all likelihood precedes either Roman or Greek empires. Very dodgy ground to be dealing in definites, I agree; not intentional.

Yes ancient symbol with many meanings attached as many commentators have attested to

Ridiculous that a ride should be shut down for having geometrical similarity

I hate fascism with all my bones (pretty much antifa) but I have no time for this kind of thing

"In Buddhism, the swastika is considered to symbolize the auspicious footprints of the Buddha. It is an aniconic symbol for the Buddha in many parts of Asia and homologous with the dharma wheel. The shape symbolizes eternal cycling, a theme found in samsara doctrine of Buddhism".
Very common sight in Buddhist temples on SE Asia

We should have a conversation bud - you seem very knowledgeable about something close to my heart, something I find most people don't even begin to understand.

There are swastikas on the Essex County Council building in Chelmsford, built in the 1920s, and no NAZI connection.

There are Swastikas and SS logos in the railings of the Hard Rock Cafe in Prague as it was the former HQ of the Nazi secret police.
