Went up Mount Teide a few years ago snow covered peak in middle of summer. Cable car pricey but really worth it. For the really keen walker you can book a guide tour to the top but places are limited and you cannot just walk up to the peak as it is really restricted access. The coach journey up was also fascinating seeing the different things that grow at different levels etc. Bring a jacket and it does make you breath quite deeply.

Take a bag of crisps and watch it expand as the air gets thinner.

Went up Mt Teide by coach in January back in the 1990s - spectacular as the caps were covered in snow. Drove through the cloud and nothing but brilliant sunshine despite being properly cold. The guide told us Planet of the Apes and Clash of the Titans filmed there because of the lunar landscape although there seems to be some doubt about that - believable all the same!

Hope you enjoy it - it sticks vividly in my mind all these years later - so it must have been decent :-)

Sioux city. First time i ever got ******. I was only 16 went with my mate. It was free drink anyway. But the pump broke and they couldnt stop pouring pints. So i thought i had to drink at same pace.

Drank myself unconscious. Was a quick recovery in those days. I have a hangover of 3 pints these days.
