Brake pads and discs
Brake pads and discs
Have been quoted £320 for full replacement at local garage
Have heard kwikfit do a lifetime guarantee
Has anyone used kwikfit for this and if so are they alot more expensive than local garages and is there any catch?

Re: Brake pads and discs
I know you've said full replacement, but is that front and rear or just one?
Also what car is it?
Oh and I'd expect Kwik fit to be more expensive despite using pretty much the same parts as local garages.

Re: Brake pads and discs
We had a full all round disc replacement on our old DS4 2 years ago and that price sounds about right. That was at the Citroen garage in Cross Hills that did our servicing and MOT's etc....CBT wrote:Have been quoted £320 for full replacement at local garage

Just thinking if kwikfit will replace for free when next need doing (pads only I think) might be worth paying the extra

Re: Brake pads and discs
I used to work for KF years ago when it was still Tom Farmer owned and the kwik fit lifetime offers usually aren't that bad but they will always try to upsell, shockers, tyres, brake fluid change service Air con recharge etc etc they are also relying on you having the discs done either then or at a later date they work on the premise discs will last for 2 sets of pads then need replacing. there will probably be something that says if they recommend any other brake work eg fluid change, discs etc that will have to be done for the pads to be replaced under the lifetime warranty.

Cars done 40k so imagine they'll need replacing again at 80k should still have it come then
If KF only charging £30-£40 more than local then will probably go with them if the small print isn't too demanding

Re: Brake pads and discs
I was thinking that sounds more like it going off last time I had some done but guess it depends on make and model of carSheedyclaret wrote:I am having rear pads and discs done soon on ours only been quoted 90 quid at the garage we use..

Re: Brake pads and discs
I’ve had brakes 4 life at Halfords fir a few years Had disks replaced once fir free and pads twice. No problems. Just used a company online called ClickMechanic who came to my wife’s workplace and changed her brake pads for £79.
