What was it before? Smiling in a non-Burnley shirt or not smiling in a Burnley shirt?

Smiling slightly less with crossed arms in last years shirt.... are you suggesting he's doing the minimum contractually required? ;)

Serious point CT - do you know why he’s not playing for the u23s ?
Think we only had Drinkwater the other day over 23 and thought we were allowed more than just the one ?
I know the development squad should be for development of our younger players but we have used it before for players like Wells.
Would have thought it would be good for Vydra to get some sharpness of playing back at a more competitive level than training must be and might also be good for players like Lewis Richardson to play alongside Vydra and learn from him etc

Maybe in the cup game next week. He has a lot to do to be getting any time in the league over the 3 in front of him.

I'm not even sure Vydra will get a run out in a league cup game that Dyche couldn't care less about. That's how bad things have got for him at Burnley.

From top scorer in the EFL Championship to out of our squad altogether. Sad really.

Should be playing.

He couldn't get a run out in the 2 home friendlies, not likely to get minutes in the cup.

Balon d’Or alert!! Another thread about how great this player is!!!

Just needs to look like he is arsed when he gets a chance.

See that the official squad photo has been taken this week.

Hope none of the players will be off abroad before end of next week else it’ll be out of date :D

Dyche takes the friendlies far more serious than the cups.

I feel deeply sorry that we have not got to see what he can do, hope his chance still comes, it seems such a waste. Hope he scores enough from the bench to give SD a headache, like it or not.

You know these days over half of the premier leagues players don’t play yet probably earn over a million a year minimum. I wouldn’t feel too sorry for him!

Edit: beat me to it gifton!

Add another £20k - he turned down Leeds at £40k a week.

If that's correct it was even more stupid of us to not get shut over the summer. The current situation isn't doing anyone any favours, we've got a clearly unhappy player hanging around the squad and we're wasting money paying a wage to someone who probably isn't going to feature for us even in an emergency now.

In those games when he has had a chance and not chased balls down, or applied pressure.

There are some proper whack jobs on here when it comes to Vydra :D

He should be playing - when you asked instead of who, no names

We should have sold him - to who ? I realise on football manager you can probably sell someone in cheat mode but in real life it doesn't quite work the same. There were stories of him putting in a transfer request, if they were true why did nobody come in for him. The way a few talk about him on here he is a guarantee of goals at any level so surely would fire a team to promotion or keep a side up.

Maybe try and work out yourself why he’s still here. It’s really not that difficult !

He acknowledges its hard to displace a potent and settled front 2, but expressed some surprise at Crouch coming in ahead of him in the pecking order

We need four forwards. He’s our fourth best forward. The fourth choice forward is unlikely to get much game time. It’s not difficult to understand.

It’s a shame that’s Vydra hasn’t had many opportunities but this is mainly down to the form of Barnes and Wood. I suspect Dyche knows that he would significantly weaken the side which is why he isn’t given cameos just to appease the fans or the player. He’s also had a dig at Vydra’s character before, which is unlike Dyche, so I think it’s fair to conclude that he doesn’t like the way he conducts himself.

He was potentially signed with one eye on us being in the Championship by now as he is proven at that level. One thing Burnley fans don’t seem to be able to handle is having squad depth, and I can understand that based on where we have come from. But Vydra is an upgrade on Wells, as Wells was an upgrade on Sordell.

They don't get having a squad, yet these are the same who would have whinged about having no cover had we not signed a central midfielder this summer. It also seems 100% Dyche's fault if Vydra doesn't play. The obsession with him is weird.

He has become the Messiah. Posters on here whooping each other into a frenzy about this 30 goal a season striker we have.
