And after all those years only Arsenal and Everton never relegated but all 22 clubs still in top two Divisions, 11 still with the top 20 this season, but with us Bolton Wolves Fulham Luton (even non-league for a time)Blackpool, and Preston having spent time in the bottom tier and only Preston and Luton never playing a season in the Premier League. Amazing what goes round comes round a lot of the time in football.

Some vivid memories of that day, and not all of them good, as we kicked off our special season. Dad told me in the morning we were going to watch a game in a corrugated scratching shed and he wasn't far wrong.
We won comfortably in the end with Adamson making sure Don Revie had little impact on the game and we left Elland Road behind wondering what the season ahead held for us. Little did we know how things would unfold.

After suffering a broken leg playing for the reserves who would have imagined that the same player would score the winning goal at Maine Rd thus bringing the championship to the Clarets?

Can't remember why Alex Elder didn't feature for either the first team or the Reserves that day, but with Tommy Cummings at left-back we didn't look quite balanced at the back. Then some three weeks later Elder made his debut and the position was his for a long time and suddenly the the overall look of the team looked perfect.
