Re: Villa v Everton
I posted further up the thread that Dyche's record at Burnley was 1.44 points per game. That was before last week, it's now 1.43. Since we went three points for a win, that has only been bettered by two Burnley managers, Stan Ternent at 1.44 and Jimmy Mullen at 1.47.
The Premier League clearly brings the points per game figure down, Dyche's record as Burnley manager in the Championship is a staggering 1.84 points per game.

Marco Silva after the game: ""We didn't deserve the result in my opinion. We dominated the game, created more chances but we didn't score and when you do that it is difficult to win a football match""

Everton knocked it around fine. Gomez behind lots of good stuff but so lightweight up front.Colburn_Claret wrote:By doing an Arsenal I meant trying to walk the ball into the net, rather than shooting.
Some shocking misses and hit the post.

It's classic word salad, designed to distract, but not actually say much.ClaretTony wrote:Marco Silva after the game: ""We didn't deserve the result in my opinion. We dominated the game, created more chances but we didn't score and when you do that it is difficult to win a football match""

That's how it is on here though, every other manager in world football who isn't "our Sean" is a clueless numpty.Devils_Advocate wrote:I was looking at managers spells as Harver and Kendall both had awful follow up spells.
Either way I think to suggest Silva isnt a good manager with a good management record who so far is doing a decent job at Everton is just not accurate (I know it wasnt you who suggested this but this is the point I have been arguing against)

Re: Villa v Everton
Everton were poor and Richarlason has to be one of th8oe worst signings ever.
They needed a new striker in Summer
Villa got the guy from Bruges who scored and he looked reasonable.Ignore the commentary he was Messi in the eyes of the Villa loving summary but I still feel Villa will go down ,especially with Mings at cb

I know people have an agenda against Silva because another poster said he was better than Dyche but what can you do when your players miss chances like these?

Re: Villa v Everton
It wasn't really an agenda against him, we just didn't toss ourselves off silly about him like someone else did, but equally most of us didn't call for Dyche to be fired that season when we were toss at the away games.
Silvia appears to be doing ok, but he rarely stays anywhere more than a season, this will be his second longest stay as a manager if he lasts the season and it's his 6th job.
Everton don't appear to have moved that much forward since his arrival, especially considering the money that's been spent.

Where are they meant to go beyond 7th/8th?GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:Everton don't appear to have moved that much forward since his arrival, especially considering the money that's been spent.
If Dyche left tomorrow and the next guy got us to finish 16th that wouldnt be forward but boy id be fuckin ecstatic (maybe you'd expect more?)

Leicester picked up a title, admittedly everything went their way that season.Devils_Advocate wrote:Where are they meant to go beyond 7th/8th?

With the changes at Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal it's entirely possible for someone to take advantage of that and leapfrog them.
Everton just seem to be pretty much treading water no matter what money they spend or who's manager.
This season they really need to finish top 6.

Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal make signings and a time of transition is to be expected so could take some time.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:Leicester picked up a title, admittedly everything went their way that season.

Everton make signings but everyone expects them to click straight away and over take 3 clubs that have be consistently at the top end of the table for years and years.
I don’t understand. Not having a pop at you just all the pundits. Why is it they acknowledge those 3 clubs might not be great yet with new signings/players etc but Everton are somehow meant to be bang at it from day 1.

Re: Villa v Everton
Fair points but Everton don't seem to be improving much any season, no matter what they spend or who's the manager.
It's usually expected that in the PL it's the Top 6 and then Everton, like it's just always going to be that way.
Maybe it's time Everton upped their game and included themselves in the top 6.
Spurs weren't considered one of the top 4 but gradual progression has seen them force themselves into the top 4 regularly.
They've spent some money along the way, some of it poorly, but they've also encouraged youth to force themselves into the first team.
