Lancs T20

Post by tybfc » Fri Aug 23, 2019 10:35 pm

Without playing tonight Lancashire have progressed into the quarter finals of the t20 competition with three games still to play.

A great effort with the number of games lost to bad weather and having lost just once so far all season.

Lancs have eased into the quarters, but it'll count for nothing if they don't perform on the day, great effort so far but we've won nowt yet.

Now that Hameed has departed (right move for him but I expect it to come back and bite us in the next 12 months or so), I really, REALLY hope that we can find one or two really fine top order red ball batsmen who can stand alongside our first division bowling attack!

It's a very fine line John.

Lancs haven't been beaten in red ball cricket this season and only once in white ball so having a pop at their batting line up which many counties would give their right arm for is slightly harsh.

The whole team have chipped in but some brilliant performances from Vilas, Livingstone, Davies and Jennings to name a few have helped an excellent bowling attack in both forms.

They will hopefully go on to complete the double.

Fair point Tony. I’d not really say it’s a pop, more learning from the last two seasons, where our openers constantly fell short of the mark, only to be propped up by the wonderful bowling attack.

You’re right about us not losing...we’ve been outstanding at times, but without Vilas, things would be very very different. In the top division, which is of a far higher standard, we need a few extra quality batsmen.
