cambridge fans injuries and injustice.
The family of a football fan who suffered horrific injuries at the hands of hooligan opposition fans are campaigning for a change in the law.
Cambridge United fan Simon Dobbin, 47, from Suffolk, was attacked after a match in Southend, Essex, in 2015.
Twelve men were jailed over the assault, which left him brain damaged.
His wife Nicole wants "Simon's Law" introduced, to force lifelong payments to the NHS by people convicted of violent disorder.
The law would also increase sentencing powers in such cases.
Some of Mr Dobbin's attackers stamped on his head for 90 seconds and as a result he cannot walk or talk.
Imagine that, 12 absolute b******s onto one innocent bloke. it happened in 2017 and they are being released from prison one by one.
The justice system is a scandalous joke in this country, that could have been any of us on the receiving end , or our relatives.

I recall the case it was horrific. How one human could treat another like that is beyond belief. It sounds like the sentencing was lenient. The idea of a lifetime of paying compensation is interesting.

Disgusting cowardly bast***s.

I’ve never understood why people aren’t financially liable for their crimes. If you get nicked and sent down why don’t you also have to pay the cost of it all - police time, prison costs, victim cost - the lot?

Just seems ridiculous a court decision for ruining a family and destroying a mans life in such a vile manner is thought to be appropriate when it amounts to a couple of years for the vermin that attacked him.

It's probably more to do with the 1000 pound a week it costs to keep people in prison.thelaughingclaret wrote:When you’ve got a country full of liberal corbyn and Green Party supporters lenient de stances are going to be more and more common and will get shorter and shorter I’m afraid.
The sooner we build a 25k capacity prison in some poor country that will reduce costs to around 25 quid a prisoner per week the better.

Interesting idea, but for the criminals on benefits would it work?
They'd pay such a pitiful amount it would just cause more arguments.

If your relations end up in care you have to sell their home to pay for the care, therefore why should prisoners get it for free? Surely selling assets or a lifetime reduction in benefits should be considered .
