FIFA are looking at possibility of replacing assistant refs with robots

They seem to be just focusing on the offsides and “out of play” which I could see would possibly work but what about the other decisions they make like fouls?
Would a robot have given us the penalty for Barnes “dive” against Southampton last season?
I can see them trying to remove all the human element from the game just to get the correct decision rather working with the officials to help them get the correct decision
Robot refs?

Read this in the Sunday Express too m8....
Re: Robot refs?
I think I’m right in saying that some referees instruct the linesman not to flag for certain decisions, whilst others want them to flag. It certainly appears that way when watching games.
Line outs, and offsides to a lesser extent, are probably pretty easy to implement, using technology. If both can be achieved immediately (as with goal line technology) I’m all for it.
Hopefully it would mean that the linesmen can then truly be used as second and third referees, working consistently, no matter who the man in the middle is.

Greeks, Turks and Italians seeking ways to bribe computers?
Re: Robot refs?
Looks like the refs have sorted VAR to their liking! Big teams will get the nod, where possible.
No change.

Re: Robot refs?
As long as humans are involved they’ll be bias. Using robots sound like the answer in the future but who programs the robots? A human with a wad of cash from sky to favour the big clubs no doubt.
