I make that nine current or former full internationals with a total of 242 caps between them.

I expect Taylor will soon be back to being the first choice left back which would mean ten internationals if we include Pieters and 260 caps in total.

And that's our second string team.

No problem, Dyche has already said there are no plans as yet to extend the loan beyond January so if he does resurrect his form then it's good news for us up to January.

If Brady isn't available, then I'd give Benson the left-wing berth. Fully aware that it isn't his best position, but he did occupy it I believe in pre-season and if he's as promising as reports suggest, it's a great opportunity to introduce him to first team football in much the same way that Chris McCann, for example, made his early appearances out wide.

Saw him play for u23s last week and he was a tidy player but he sat pretty deep and stayed central the whole game as far as I could see. Didn’t look to me like he had or could play wide - but stand to be corrected if anyone has seen him play more than the one game I saw.

Benson played the last 10 minutes at Crewe on the left wing and looked hopelessly out of position. Not sure why you would want to throw a kid in to a game like this and play him out of position. Benson, also, played a full 90 minutes yesterday.

I think we all know how much Spice enjoys moving players away from where they are best :)

Can't believe how many people are prepared to completely right off a competition we have a chance of doing well in. If Brady isn't fit there's no reason why McNeil can't play. Let's play a strong team and progress to the next round.

You are talking about the player you saw win the league more than 3 years ago now.
If you would have been on the u23 game last Monday you would realise the decision of whether to play him is a little more complex than basing it on the player he was at Leicester.
Hopefully he plays and we can start to see glimpses of the player he was and he ends up a real asset for us. He will only get into the league team based on what he can do now though - not what he did 3 years ago.

For what it's worth, I think the team could be:

Hart
Bardsley Long Gibson Taylor
Lennon Hendrick Drinkwater McNeil
Rodriguez Barnes

I wouldn't play Barnes. He's far too important to us right now to risk in this game, plus we're not short of other options.

If he doesn't play Vydra then it will be one of Wood or Barnes I suspect.

Dont see the point of risking McNeil or Barnes. Sunderland will be up for it and we dont need to risk injuries to first team starters .Vydra surely has to start. Didnt he play left side midfield v England ? if so try him there in place of McNeil or upfront with Jrod. I assume Brady is unfit.

Looking at the squad now there is legitimate strength to change the whole team....we have never had that before. I reckon he will make 8 changes but can see the merit in changing all 11 as the quality is so high.

I wouldn’t be wanting to risk any of the first 11 as they are in tune at the minute, certainly not Wood or Barnes from the start.

People need to forget about Vydra, unless something drastic happens there's clearly no way Dyche is going to pick him. The lad himself clearly knows that so where's his motivation to come in and perform anyway?
I'd give Jay a go up there with Wood. If Wood managed to get on the scoresheet could kick start his season.

Agree with Turfy Topper.. Dyche will not play anyone who started on Sunday.
Will put out a strong bench however.

So basically, the OP was just a guess?

Maybe just say that...
