Re: Hacksaw ridge
One of the best comedy films of recent years.
My favourite bit is when he's introducing the platoon and he says, "That's Tex, reckons he's some sorta cowboy" and sure enough, there's "Tex" twirling a lasso

Really good film, some excellent filming of the battle scenes.

Re: Hacksaw ridge
Vince Vaughan doing warcries at "Chief" is another split-your-sides laughing scene, as is the bit where that skinny Spiderman guy drags the injured Vince eight kilometres through enemy lines despite the fact he's about seven feet tall and weighs as much as an Indian Elephant.
I might download it again, I literally laughed until I cried.

Re: Hacksaw ridge
Found the action a bit OTT in terms of stunt choreography. There's explosions everywhere which without fail throw people through the air. Once or twice, cool, but I'm sure not every single grenade in WWII launched someone off the ground.

It's Vince Vaughan day!
What's over there Vince?
Is it an acting lesson?
Go get it big dog.

Can you spot Tex?
I'll give you a clue, he reckons he's some sorta cowboy.

And let's not forget that bit where he slaps a grenade...
Then kicks a grenage...
YES! That really happens!

Which bit did you think was more realistic? When he slapped the first grenade or when he kicked the second grenade?GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:Really good film, some excellent filming of the battle scenes.

I think it’s fair to say Claret on a T Rex has an issue with the film

But what do you think was more impressive, slapping a grenade or kicking a grenade?Goalposts wrote:i think for all the attributes of the film..u need to remember that this guy pulled 75 people of that ridge..thats some doing

Don’t have much of an opinion on the movie, but what exactly is so spectacular about kicking a grenade?Claret-On-A-T-Rex wrote:But what do you think was more impressive, slapping a grenade or kicking a grenade?

Re: Hacksaw ridge
It wasn't actually so spectacular, he kicked it away from him and his friends but (and they don't show this in the movie) it landed in the middle of a nearby platoon of his own men, killing 38 of them. The grenade he slapped away also landed in a group of his own men, killing the same number.Rileybobs wrote:Don’t have much of an opinion on the movie, but what exactly is so spectacular about kicking a grenade?
