On 12th Feb 1966, my dad and I left Haslingden at 5am in wellies to walk the 2 miles to Rawtenstall in deep snow to catch Ellen Smith's coach to the FA Cup 4th round at Spurs, no weakened teams and a 50,000 crowd (gate for the lg match at White Hart Lane was to be only 29,000 that season). When we arrived in London there was no snow and nothing else to wear but our wellies, providing much amusement for the cockneys! Older fans will remember how the match went with Gilzean smacking in a late winner, putting Spurs in front for the first time. The coach broke down on the way home and limped back to Rawtenstall at 2 am. The one bit of good news - the snow was still deep and crisp and even and we had our wellies for the long trudge home!

Away at Bradford 1985. Pulled it back from 2 down to make it 2-2 in the 82nd and 85th minute only for Bradford to make it 3-2 with 3 mins to play. That extra point would have kept us from the 4th division had all other results remained as they did.

I can`t be arsed looking, but wasn`t that when we went on our run of 17 games without a win and Sunderland went up?tim_noone wrote:Burnley against Sunderland when they were managed by Roy Keane....they had a decent side at the time we were leading by 1..0 and they scored in fergie time... For some reason it seemed an important game.felt like a defeat!

There's probably a number of Middlesbrough fans discussing something similar, and Michelle Keanes header keeps cropping up In the conversation.
