He should have been banned for life. He was stagger-drunk and there's no way he was just over the limit. This is why he didn't give a sample. He could have killed someone and maybe not even known about it if he hadn't been pulled up by the police. I hope I never see his face on TV again.

Hang on there. 1) drinking and driving an absolute no no 2) 10 month in clink for refusing a breath test-first offence I assume-usual punishment for drink driving plus some add ons as has finally happened here.
Not sure how changing his sentence will lead to someone being killed by a drunk driver but more likely to have a drunk driver due to the pricing and availability of alcohol.

Never cared for Saunders one way or the the other until I heard him tell a story about when Brian Clough tried to sign him. He completely sensationalised the story adding parts in that would make it 'funny' at the expense of Clough who clearly had his own issues.

I suppose that's what can happen when you get on the after-dinner circuit and the person you are mocking isn't here to defend themselves.

mdd2, the case shows if you act ignorant and witless and refuse to give a breath test (in the video he makes out he can't comprehend a simple instruction as if it were a complex mathematical theory) and spin out an argument you can get away without a prison sentence, so take the risk and chance it.

AS such, giving credence to blagging gives confidence to chancers which may result in a death because of this encouragement to chancers to blag and prevaricate, thus they are more likely to risk it.
