Re: Brighton (away) - General Info Thread
I just booked parking at the ground for 15 quid (anything to save me from the queue at the train station after the game!)
Tickets can be booked through the B&HA ticketing portal.
Cheers

Re: Brighton (away) - General Info Thread
You have 2 ways from London..
From Victoria jump on a Eastbourne train to Lewes (again a queuing system at the station for falmer)
But remember the train splits at Haywards heath!
Or jump on a Brighton train from Victoria, st pancras(5 min walk from Euston) or London bridge
If you want cheaper train tickets use Thameslink (st pancras, farringdon, London bridge) trains to Brighton.
I think it's around £12-14 for a rtn or less if theres more than 3 of you.

Re: Brighton (away) - General Info Thread
Before the game it’s easy enough to just go Euston -> Victoria -> Brighton. There’s a shop outside the station for you to get a beer or two for the train to Lewes and short walk to the ground. The trains to Lewes are regular but absolutely packed the closer you get to kick off as expected.
After the game it’s an effin nightmare with one train about 17:20 for everyone going back to Brighton.
EDIT: looks like they’ve sorted the train situation after the game as they’re showing as running every 10 minutes.

They do run every 10 mins.. either way you'll queue lol
Re: Brighton (away) - General Info Thread
My preference for after the game (helped by the fact that we've had decent results there the past few seasons) is to have a few beers in the concourse whilst the queue for the train dies down. The bars are still open and there are plenty of TVs. After a couple of beers you can normally get straight on the train.

We are in the car for this one, unusually for us as we normally do the train.Hantsclaret wrote:I just booked parking at the ground for 15 quid (anything to save me from the queue at the train station after the game!)

Looks like you have to register on their ‘My Albion Digital’ to do this. Is this how you did it? Looks like you may have to have a season ticket or membership there but not sure?Hantsclaret wrote:I just booked parking at the ground for 15 quid (anything to save me from the queue at the train station after the game!)

Last time I parked in the multi storey at Hayward’s Heath and got the train in. We had multiple options on the train back and managed to avoid the huge crowds.

Don’t you have to go via Brighton Central to get to Falmer so you have to change on the way back? That was crowded the last time I did the train there?Pearcey wrote:Last time I parked in the multi storey at Hayward’s Heath and got the train in. Thanks for that info. I've booked on the car park as a nightmare last time parking at the station. Cost £6 there as well so well worth the extra £9.Hantsclaret wrote:I just booked parking at the ground for 15 quid (anything to save me from the queue at the train station after the game!)

This is my one and only away game, this season(most probably), and I’m making a weekend of it with friends who live in Redhill. We’re doing drinks in Lewes, pre-match, and a few scoops in Brighton afterwards. Train all the way.

It's become way busier to/from Lewes than it used to be, a lot have cottoned onto that as the way to go.

I’ve already opted out
Re: Brighton (away) - General Info Thread
I've received this info from a pub catering for away fans -
The New Oak
Telephone: 01273 551251 / 07907494141
The New Oak is a large pub located just 7 minutes drive from Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium. The pub has a dedicated bar for away fans, recommended by Sussex police holding up to 150 people, serving a great selection of beer, cider and real ales from £3.90 a pint, along with a great Pan Asian food menu.
It is ideally placed being 2 minutes from the A27 and A23 and boasts a large car park and free off street parking for coaches if required. The bar has full Sky and BT Sports shown on a large cinema screen and flat screen TV. The New Oak can also provide food or drink packages to speed things up when you arrive, just call in advance for details.

Re: Brighton (away) - General Info Thread
Any clarets have any good pick-up/ drop-off locations?
The lady is dropping myself and 2 boys (first away games), so don't want to walk too far, but equally don't want to be stuck in all the traffic. She's occupying the rest of the rabble while we watch the football. Any ideas?

If you’re travelling from the ground back to Brighton the bus is a good option. Quick and cheap.

Re: Brighton (away) - General Info Thread
I used the park and ride service last season. I don't think there was a charge for either the car park or the bus - I think it's covered by their match ticket and free travel scheme. The only draw back was that we were just too late to get in the park and ride just off the A27. We ended up at the race course - a lot longer drive round the back of Brighton - and the same coming back.
We also stood with a few Brighton fans in the rain waiting for the bus back to the car park - but, with our win there was a little bonus to listen in on their after match concerns.

At the mention of Lewes its a special day there. I received this message this week.
Just a very brief note to let you know that Lewes FC who play in the Isthmian League will be wearing the GwL logo on their shirts fronts until the end of October. The kit will be launched this Saturday at their game against Potters Bar Town at the Dripping Pan ground ... 3.00pm kick off.
The following report was on the BBC website this morning: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49683406" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Lewes are a wonderful club whose principles and values go way beyond the pitch. They are famous for being the first club to pay their male and female players the same. Their decision was a reaction to the amount of gambling sponsorship and money across football ... with the Isthmian League itseif being sponsored by a betting company this year. It will be a pleasure to work with them to raise awareness of the serious harms that gambling causes..
Gambling with Lives will be there ... so if you fancy a day out in Lewes, pop along and say hello.
