Re: Goals v Sunderland
I'm going to use that video to show & reiterate to my u10's what happens if you leave 2 players unmarked on the edge of the area when defending a corner

2 problems with those goals and I've been saying it for ages.
Defending too deep, and not defending corners properly. Recurring themes...

Re: Goals v Sunderland
In fairness to Sunderland they worked those goals very well (as we did ours). But it looks like we were asleep!
Re: Goals v Sunderland
Difficult to say yes or no as we would concede far more in the Prem if it was a major problem.Roosterbooster wrote:2 problems with those goals and I've been saying it for ages.

think Vydra 'turns his back' on the scorer of 3rd goal - could've made the block if he hadn't

Re: Goals v Sunderland
Two well worked corners that we can pull apart. I’d scored the third, which was an outstanding piece of inventiveness, we’d be thrilled. It caught us out good and proper: fair play.
Re: Goals v Sunderland
Two of them did. Probably the thing that most concerns me when I see a Burnley player do it, and most irks me when I see, pretty much ANY, professional footballer do it.claretblue wrote:think Vydra 'turns his back' on the scorer of 3rd goal - could've made the block if he hadn't
They're grown men, for goodness sake! Even if they took a full-on hit right in the nether regions, it's not life-threatening!
Having said that, I thought the third was a very well-worked goal, well taken but with a little luck involved for the ball to pass through such a crowd in the six yard box.
But from the terse, clipped comments from the manager after the game, I suspect there will be a few rigorous performance reviews over the next few days, and some personal improvement plans issued!!!!
