Introduced all sorts of different, varied sounds into my place, wherever it happened to be.
Some of it was good, and stayed with me.

I’ve long thought Peel was extremely lucky. Heralded as a champion of the arts, whereas most of the material he played was diabolical. Very much a case of the Emperor’s new Clothes.

Oddly the Ruts, IMHO, who he championed correctly displayed Peel with a school girl on his lap on The sleeve of their debut LP.

I thought it was common knowledge, but clearly not.

Peel championed 2 Tone, if he did nothing else that makes him worthy of remembering imho.

Loved listening to his morning show driving over to Harrogate for work, made the journey a pleasure.

Still much missed.
