Next four games

Post by kaptin1 » Sun Sep 01, 2019 9:12 am

Brighton (A), Norwich (H), Villa (A), Everton (H) ... After a tough run of fixtures the next four matches provide an opportunity to put some good points on the board. 8 would be an excellent return I think.

We’ve got one of the big two out of the way.
I think that Arsenal will finish third this year and we weren’t too shabby against them. Spurs, Chelsea and ManU are all beatable at the moment. We should have beaten Wolves.

That’s last years top seven and we are at least the equal of ALL of the rest.

Bring them on - I’m looking forward to this season’s league games and I predict a good FA Cup run.

A good chance to get at least six or seven points.

Four or less will be very disappointing.

If we have ten or more points after the next four games we will be comfortably in mid-table.

Not sure what people have seen tbh to suggest we'll easily roll over the likes of Brighton, Norwich and Villa.

Well, if we can't get points off those type of sides we are all but relegated!

Last season we got 21 points out of 40 against the five teams below us.
Winning 6, drawing 3, losing 1

Let's face it the bottom 3 last year were awful. I think the likes of Norwich and Sheff United will be far more competitive.

From what I've seen so far:
Norwich - whilst scoring plenty, they concede for fun and in tight matches it could cost them dear.
Sheff U - Whilst playing well at the moment the exuberance of promotion may catch up with them and they are playing at full capacity to get the points they have. There tends to be a drop-off after a few matches. (Huddersfield two seasons ago).
Villa - Can't work them out at all.

But what leads you to think we will only get 3 points, when we outplayed both Southampton and Wolves and got four points in those two matches alone?

And in the other two games, we were up against far better sides than we'll face in the next four.

Stretching it a bit to say we outplayed Southampton and Wolves.

Apart from us sitting back for the last 15 mins or so did Wolves even get close to our goal for the other 75 mins?

And in the last 2 games we've been dogger with 4 shots on target, with only 3 against a league 1 team.

The question was how many points in tbe next 4 games, 3 points is my opinion, I look forward to being proved wrong, hopefully with a higher number.

That ok with you Spijed?

How daft is it to include Sunderland when we made ten changes, a completely different side to yesterday?

And where are we going to get the points from btw?

Not a chance we deserved to beat Southampton 3-0. 1-0, yes.

I think 7 is fair, we are too organised for Villa and Brighton, a point against Norwich while there scoring will be ok and a loss against Everton.

Anything less than 4 is a little worrying considering 3 of those teams could be down there come the end.

I can see us going on a run now also I went to Arsenal and so enough from that game
Yesterday was down to a catalogue of mistakes so many in one game is not like us so wouldn't go off anything of yesterday against the champions of Europe

The only "daft" thing I see is you like a dog with a bone because you disagree with my OPINION, that is what I gave, 3 points being my OPINION.
If you want me to turn full mystic Msg I'll go for Brighton -0 Norwich -3 Villa -0 and Everton -0 .

As I said earlier, I'm more than happy to be wrong.
In the previous thread for the first 4 games I'm a point out, not too bad of a guess there was it?

Plenty of people saying we'll take 10-12 points. Probably the same people who were tipping us to beat Liverpool.

Not sure how many points we'll get in the next four games
but whatever it is I think it'll go a long way to determining
how well we do over the season albeit it'll only be 8 games in.

I think this season it'll be a real dog fight down at the bottom
between 5 or 6 teams who will all be fighting to stay up.

I'd like to think we won't be one of those teams and if we manage to get 6 or 7 points
from the next four games then it will be more than a solid platform for the rest for the season

If we only get 2 or 3 points then we'll be down there.

We’ve nothing whatsoever to fear from the likes of Norwich Brighton Villa ,or even Everton at home . While id expect us to beat Norwich and get 1 win from either Brighton or Villa ,Everton could be anything .

This could run of 4 could really define our direction this season , we could be top 6 by end of Sept and these games should also see Drinkwater get on board and Jay Rod start .

I predict 7-9 points

It sounds as though Brighton are playing better football under Potter and Everton are starting to get it together . So , i predict we'll only get a point off one of these , but we'll beat Norwich and Villa . 7 .

Brighton might be playing “better” football but their actual results aren’t much to write home about.
