We seem to be creating more chances this season
That's been very encouraging so far.

I think we are getting the ball forward much quicker. Yes there are still a lot of long balls but I have no problem with that if they are well executed. Last year we were maybe holding onto the ball too long, allowing teams to get their shape and then pumping long balls which were having less effect.

We are getting folk in the box and that is great.
One break we had Lennon crossing and 4 in the box.
Excellent.

I notice Liverpool were hitting long balls yesterday trying to find Sala and Mane. They were also putting in crosses which some of the top teams don't seem to want to do.kaptin1 wrote:I think we are getting the ball forward much quicker. They're not called "long balls" when the top 6 do them. They are cultured, visionary, raking passes."Stayingup wrote:I notice Liverpool were hitting long balls yesterday trying to find Sala and Mane. They were also putting in crosses which some of the top teams don't seem to want to do.

I remember very well watching Glen Hoddle hit pinpoint accurate long balls on a regular basis. There is a difference between that and hoofing it.mybloodisclaret wrote:They're not called "long balls" when the top 6 do them. They are cultured, visionary, raking passes."
