Burnley FC Shares

Post by Bobo » Tue Sep 03, 2019 3:56 pm

I'm looking to buy one or two shares of the club. I know that there is no money to gain but i still like to own parts of this club. Anyone have one to spend?

I think they got rid of all small share holders a few years ago.

Yeah Im pretty sure thats the case, they dont need money anymore as the company is profitable. Thats not a dig at the club by the way, its a fair reason.

I beg to differ as I'm a "small share holder" 8-)

I have one share, which I acquired through Barry’s offer of returning season ticket money or having one share in the club, following promotion in 2009. Is this a ‘real’ share in the club, or just a pretty piece of paper?

They're all still there. (A list here if you like https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; )

They stopped selling individual shares though. I think they upped the minimum to 5 @£200 each but that was a few years back so has probably changed.

There's still the option of buying from an existing shareholder. Although this needs to be registered with the company (BFC Holdings) and the directors can refuse.

Looking at the list I’m not on it :(
My ‘share’ number is 4473 and is signed by The secretary (Clive Holt?) and two directors. So my question still stands ‘is it real’?
If it is real, who do I contact at the club to sort this out?

I can see other names on that list that I know were from the free season ticket offer. There may be some spelling mistakes in that spreadsheet (I just knocked it up in a couple of minutes from the original). The original PDF is the Confirmation statement made on 11 December 2018 with updates here https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/comp ... ng-history" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It's in alphabetical order so pretty easy to look through.

Thanks for the link aggi, very interesting; sadly I’m not on the list at Companies House either :(
Any idea who could help me at the club?
Cheers. Ian

The person who'd ultimately deal with it would probably be the Company Secretary, Matthew Williams. I don't know his contact details though.

I think they restructured the old shareholdings. The only benefit can be for sentimental reasons. This is unless you are acquiring £millions worth and prepared to accept the associated risk.

I see we have a "Horatio Nelson Brown" as a shareholder. Useful if we get into any naval battles

Hi Neil. I was there was for the Liverpool game. Missed the opener as was not in UK. Will be on against Norwich though. Hope to get to Spurs and see this super new stadium of theirs.
