Drink water injury

Post by Bfc » Thu Sep 05, 2019 3:06 pm

Heard he's out for a while. Now wearing a cast. That's us struggling in midfield, unless is precautionary.

Complete panic buy, we had all summer to find a centre mid yet we ended up scrambling around desperately in the last few hours and ended up with someone who has barely played for 2 years.
Just kicking the can down the road before we have the same problem this summer.

I hope we'd be shrewd enough to sort that out in the contract.

So yeah we probably are :D !

usually if there is a serious injury there is a clause to send the player back to his parent club.

Has this injury even been confirmed ?

A couple of weeks ago many on here were claiming him to be the Messiah and that he should walk (hobble) straight into our 1st team.

Now he is injured (if confirmed) and he was a panic buy (we haven't even bought him)!

The reality as usual is somewhere in the middle. He was a calculated gamble which wouldn't cost us much but had the potential to make us much better / add depth if it worked out.

Given I knew about it a week before we signed him would suggest it wasn’t a case of scrambling around in the last few hours nor a panic buy.

Nothing online. Could be true. Doesn’t mean he was a panic buy. Actually exactly what we need our problem is doing things as late as we do.

Don’t understand why we don’t get them in early. Get them fit and ready to start on day one. We all know how much Dyche values work ethic fitness and spirit.

Both Garlick & Dyche have constantly said we can’t do that. We are not the only ones either given the number of late deals that go through every year.

Drinkwater wasn’t a panic buy (or loan in this case), let’s not get it twisted. 29 year old but a Premier League winner and exactly the right profile.

People moan about the transfers enough as it is, just imagine the carnage on here if we just gave in and overpaid in wages and fees then the player flopped....

Steady your bottom lip ffs. Drinkwater was no panic buy but a quality seasoned prem player in the position we needed , injuries happen and it’s frustrating but we could of signed de Bruyne and he could have been crocked in the canteen , it’s the way it goes

Would cost us more money, in some cases considerably more money, and/or we wouldn’t get the players at all who often won’t commit until later. It’s not just us, it’s only those who can throw money at it who can get in early.

Neither. I doubt the OP would be on the wind up and, likewise, I wouldn’t expect the club to be rushing to confirm any injury should there be one until such time as they have confirmed details.

Really? More than when we are desperate at the 11th hour and have to get someone in?

And sometimes its worth paying more.

Bad news if confirmed but I suppose that 3 decent midfielders to fill 2 spots is better than we have had in the past.

When are we desperate? But the manager & chairman have both explained it countless times why we can’t go early even though it would be better if we could.

I'm thinking that we might be/have to lump on in January for a signing.

Let's hope for a Barnes/Keane type January signing, but for midfield obviously.
