Adkins to Huddersfax
Looks to be a starter if this is to be believed.

Unlike the tabloids, the BBC don’t tend to run with stories like this without a lot more substantial info.
Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Would be a good appointment I think

Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Adkins is a bit of a weird entity for me, back to back promotions and massive success for two seasons at Southampton and has faded into obscurity.
Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Decent manager Adkins, led Scunthorpe to 2 promotions from League One to the Championship 2nd time he kept them up. Back to back promotions at Southampton. Little chance at Reading and did well last year with Hull to steady the ship.

Gary Monk expected to be named new boss of Sheffield Wednesday
Will people ever learn - especially as it is only weeks since all the allegations from 3 former clubs emerged

Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
I'm surprised Chris Hughton is still without a job - He's be a perfect fit for a big club like Sheffield Wednesday

Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Adkins slipping away in the betting for Huddersfield with Neil Harris (Millwall) in the reckoning.
Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Neil Harris moving away from Millwall and moving up north ? Can't see it myself.

Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Neil Harris is Mr Millwall isn't he? Either something rotten in the den or (relatively) massive money on offer.

Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Huddersfield Examiner, who tend to know what’s going on at the football club, are suggesting there hasn’t been an approach for Adkins.
Crowley, who turned it down a few days ago, is odds on favourite again.

Rumour has it he turned it down as he thought he was getting the Sheff Weds job then they appointed Monk. Would explain Huddersfield offering it him again

Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
He did an interview on TV and said he'd turned it down, then when he didn't get the Sheffield Wednesday job he spoke about how much he'd built at Lincoln and didn't want to walk away from it, probably thinking he'd blown his Huddersfield chances.claretonthecoast1882 wrote:Rumour has it he turned it down as he thought he was getting the Sheff Weds job then they appointed Monk. Cowley appointment confirmed
Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
looks an excellent appointment
Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Not sure that's such a great move for him really. Huddersfield are a team on a downward trajectory whereas Lincoln are going in the opposite direction.

good for Cowley, good to see Hudders going the British route again after faffing about with the trendy route

same risk in any job I guess, just nice to see them being given a chance rather than the U21 manager from Dortmund !Bosscat wrote:Him and his Brother may come to regret it though... as Lincoln get promoted and Cleckuddersfax get relegated

Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Hasn't Cowley been criticised about the style of play that Lincoln play?
I know Lincoln were very physical against us in the cup game and yes I will say it that they were a dirty team

Re: Adkins to Huddersfax
Great to see an young English manager get a chance at moving up the ladder. Huddersfield are well supported and funded, with a great stadium and training facilities. I hope he does well.
