Should get a good test in goal against Germany tonight, will be interesting to see how he gets on.

I saw the table with them top with 4 wins out of 4 - then realised they'd not played Germany or Netherlands yet. Strange how their fixtures panned out as you you'd expect them to play every team once and then play the reverse fixtures.

Think the relevant countries FAs work out the order of the games between themselves (or I’m sure that use to be the case)

Not too much quality on show. A bit rough and tumble.

NI lucky to get away with a penalty just then.

Not much action on N.Ireland’s goal, only thing to comment on is a bit of dodgy distribution from P-F.

We’ve Dunne come a Long way. We have full internationals that are nowhere near our first team.

Beaten finally following a first time cross.
Still my biggest gripe about our widemen, apart from McNeil.

It's only become fashionable in the last 5 or so years to think that goalkeepers should be able to knock it about like Andres Iniesta .

This is mainly due to one or two goalkeepers playing for superstar studded sides, being able to chip the ball over advancing forwards to their team mates.

Even some of the professionals started off as goalkeepers because they couldn't kick straight so they got landed in goal.

A goalkeeper should save goals, not help cause them by passing the ball all over the penalty area! Recipe for disaster.

Outside of the very top teams it's a recipe for disaterr. The only reason that the best few teams in any division could manage it is because the team out of possession drop off.

Some people need to realise the difference between being able to take accurate long kicks and passing it out from the back.

If someone makes a comment about poor kicking it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the 'Ederson esque playing the ball short out from the back' and it's usually based on how well a goalkeeper can kick a long ball accurately.

When watching us play it's been one of the most noticable downfalls in our play when we have had Pope in goal and one thing (if only one thing) that Hart (and Heaton lesser so) does a lot better.

Those old enough will remember Marlon Beresford and how he scuffed so many goal kicks we resorted to a player taking them instead, this is poor kicking. It's not necessarily poor kicking because he couldn't do a rabona to the centre half a few feet away.

So just the same as some outfield players some goalkeeper's are better at long passes than others and given we tend to play a front two with two big men I'd say kicking accuracy should be quite high on the agenda.

A touch of the Joe Hart for the second goal going out feet first instead of getting his body behind the shot

I believe the Netherlands games got delayed due to them being involved in Nations League semi and final in June so it gave NI a tough run in but they did the job they needed by doing the double over Estonia and Belarus, can't see them getting anything away Netherlands or Germany but a good performance might help in Belfast against Netherlands but NI were seriously not helped with Netherlands winning in Germany last week.
