journalism opportunity (unpaid)
Hello clarets,
I've been offered an opportunity to write some weekly Burnley articles for a site called Vavel (I've not heard of it either) but as it's unpaid I can't commit to it. Moreover I think it'd be beneficial to any young clarets who want some solid journalism experience. I'm not young anymore!
I don't know much more than that but figured someone on here, or perhaps someone's son/daughter might get benefit from it. I believe there are some perks around attending games as a media representative...
If youre interested let me know.
(edited title as its in no way linked to the club)

I'd not encourage any journalist to accept unpaid work

A lot of online sites looking free copy. People should be paid for their work.

Id recommend Boysie as he seems to wade through all the bias and bullshit and display an acute understanding of the club and all around it.
Maybe Boysie could mentor a younger claret in both journalism and on the knowledge of the game

Fair enough. Unfortunately it's sometimes the only way into the industry though! Not fair but them the breaks!edison wrote:I'd not encourage any journalist to accept unpaid work
FYI this isn't anything to do with me really, just passed the info on.

Unfortunately you’re not wrong, I hate the work for free to prove you can do it ideology though. How about interview someone and make a decision correctlyClaretmatt4 wrote:Fair enough. Unfortunately it's sometimes the only way into the industry though! Not fair but them the breaks!

free for 6 months, gives someone a published line of work to show to people, beyond that I wouldn't think it would add any value

Edison I believe is a journo, as is forzagranata who posts on here. Forza is Simon Evans, son of Eli and works for Reuters. I would listen to advice from either of these 2, in particular Simon who I have known from childhood.
