Jock from Walsden ( Andrew Bannerman)
Sad to report that Jock (surname Bannerman I think) has died. Believe he was late 50s. No details but his mate called round this morning and found him.
I’ve known Jock for donkey’s years and for a few seasons he sat a couple of rows in front of me with Pete Hodson, who also passed away, and a third mate Spider.
Jock travelled to away games quite often with Rossy Clarets.
Another committed Claret has left us. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

Andrew "Jock" Bannerman, RIP
This comes as as shock as I saw him about 08:15 on Thursday morning.
Finished my night shift and had an 08:20 appointment at the doctors. Jock was sat in the waiting room. As I was straight in for my appointment I didn't get chance to speak to him.

That’s really sad.
Jock was a great bloke with a wicked sense of humour.
Sleep well big fella.

Jock features in many of my memories of away trips with Selwyn back in the 80s, as does Pete Hodson, including a trip to Hartlepool with Keith Rigby where we all got in for free.
Quite a shock to think that I'm the only one left. Scandalous, as Pete would say.

Jock and his mate Spider were regulars in the early days of the Boundary Clarets..born out of the members coach. We often used to pick them up just off the sliproad of the M62 at Milnrow. Big lad..big sense of humour. Always recall the time he fell in the aisle on the coach and couldn't get up as he was wedged in. RIP Jock.

I always remember Jock's choice reaction as he headed for half time refreshment one game during the 1997/98 season.
He thought a chant of "Waddle Out!" was directed at him...

Don't think I know him but as with many long standing Clarets, I would probably know him by sight. Thoughts with his family and friends this afternoon. RIP fellow Claret.
Re: Jock from Walsden ( Andrew Bannerman)
Was he under the doctor long term, or has his doctor missed something?

Really good turnout for Jock and even a letter from Burnley Football Club read out. Won’t seem the same playing home or away with Jock not there.

Only just picked this up. very sad to read this as I shared many an away trip with Jock and Pete in the 80s and 90s (in the days when we all went by train). As someone up the thread said ...he was there when things were tough.
Re: Jock from Walsden ( Andrew Bannerman)
A good send off yesterday for Jock, very nice service and a few laughs along the way.
RIP JOCK
