I hope they're as poor as this when we play them in three weeks time.

They are nowhere near threatening the top six

Good enough for what? Good enough for the title? Good enough for a Champions League spot? Good enough for a top 7 position? Or good enough to have a chance of beating Everton? 4 very different levels of 'good enough' needed for each of those questions.

Imagine the reaction on here if we’d played like that after spending all that money.

I think we have every chance of beating Everton next month.

You don't think we are anywhere near being good enough to beat Everton? In that case you'd better go bet everything you own on us being relegated. Everton are going to be one of the also-ran teams that we have to be competitive with this season if we are to survive in the Premier League.

We have a decent chance on any given week to beat anyone outside the top 6 but a chance to get beaten by any of them if we are a bit off our levels. Same goes for all the 13 other teams who compete for best of the rest year after year (with the odd exceptional year to prove the premise). The top 6 are going to get favourable results against the other 14 most of the time though every once in a while the lesser team will get a good result (Norwich v City, us v Liverpool (once), City (2 or 3 times), Chelsea (2 or 3 times), Spurs (3 or 4 times) and United (3 or 4 times), Huddersfield beating City last season)

He's gone for Keane on this occasion because he's ex Burnley and was rated on here.

If Everton had have won 3-1, it would have been all about Silva from him.

This is spot on. We may get a few points off the top six ( last season we got five ) but our season will be defined by our results against the other thirteen.

So far we've played three of them, winning at home and drawing both away games.

I haven't watched them today but Everton have created bucket loads of chances in all the other games.

They will finish at least 7th and are way ahead of us at the minute.

We could give them a game though, but we would have to be at our best.

The young lad Tom Davies seems out of favour there. If it continues worth looking at this summer or in January? Hendrick likely to leave and Cork another year older, we could do a lot worse than this lad depending on us affording his wages.

Absolutely dreadful today though and that team, playing like that, won't even be able to see 7th let alone get there.

I'd expect them to be way ahead of us. They are a much bigger club with a much bigger budget and, like Wolves, believe they can break the top six. Maybe they can, but not based on today's form. Defensively they were absolutely shocking.

I think it's safe to say B'mouth are a far better side than Brighton.

Callum Wilson is only behind Sterling in goal involvement over recent times.

Did you just compare Callum Wilson with Sterling?

He's 2nd on a list behind Sterling for goal involvement. Goals and assists.

I don't know how you get comparing the two. Just showing how good Wilson is.

26 - The most goal involvements by English players in the Premier League since the start of last season:

CALLUM WILSON - 26 (17G, 9A)
Jamie Vardy - 26 (21G, 5A)
Harry Kane - 25 (20G, 5A)
Marcus Rashford - 20 (13G, 7A)

Classic UTC thread about Everton....we are now comparing Callum Wilson with all and sundry (nobody from Everton). How about sticking to the topic?

Must be Keane's fault, although you'd expect such a highly rated manager to improve the players who're there, that's what Dyche does most of the time after all.

And Neither is Callum Wilson a patch on Harry Kane, yet according to those stats he's performing better.

Ok

If Everton won today they would of gone 2nd. They had a shocker apperently and go 11th. That's early season football for you.

Some on here think they're doomed.

I thought that for the fixture last year. Remember we were playing a lot better, had beaten Brighton and put in good performances home to Liverpool and at Spurs and Arsenal......

Silva doesn't appear too clever at coaching the defensive side of the game, the full backs always play really high so you can exploit the space behind and the centre backs are not in sync with their line so getting in behind them is not too difficult such as Wilson's goal.

Got some good players but they need to stiffen up without the ball to threaten the top 6.

But we played Everton when we were mathematically safe, and yu know how that usually pans out at the end of the season! :)

he is referring to the Boxing Day game - when we didn't look like getting anywhere near being mathematically safe ever!

2nd for goal involvement for an English player. Your first post was a little misleading.

In any case Wilson is obviously a good player.
