Anybody know this plumber?

Post by TheFamilyCat » Tue Sep 17, 2019 3:14 pm

Seems like Burnley has two heroes called James Anderson.

(Hope the plumber doesn't support Arsenal though)

I read about this bloke a while ago and saw this story yesterday - bit strange that he's going into debt with it but all credit to him helping those who need it

I was wondering if I should start a thread after seeing this:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-49729211" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It was an enormous relief to see something, anything, on the BBC about Burnley that was actually good.

Yes, attended a charity event to raise money to kit out his van with new tools so he could continue to carry on helping the vulnerable and needing.

Not sure if he had been broken into and his tools were robbed, or they'd just come to the end of their life.
Anyway read and saw what work he was doing, so was more than happy to contribute.

He does some great work, and if there were more people like him about, the world would be a better place.

Hope he gets some help and support in his hour of need if he ever needs it.

It is a really good news story and what a decent man. It wouldn’t surprise me if he was robbed as some delinquents broke into and vandalised our local hospice charity shop just recently. One end of the spectrum to the other.

Shame he won't be able to read about himself, being a scouser he'll burn the paper, won't he?

Absolutely smashed his £4,000 target, now up over 21k.

Presume social media and the national news has helped spread the word.

£50k across the justgiving and the crowdfunder platforms. Plus I'm sure others direct and various 'in kind' offers I've seen... well done him...

There's also a " Gofundme " page, and across the three, there's been over £69,000 raised .....

I hope this will enable his good work to continue, as well as provide a decent standard of living for him and his family ... he's been given a free trip to London, with a show and accommodation by ITV's " This morning " programme, as well ...

I employed him once, to do our bathroom. Was an absolute cowboy. I sincerely hope he's doing good things for people in his community, but on the evidence of my eyes I'd be keeping a careful eye on him.

He was on the news over here in Vancouver. Good man! Put Burnley on the map for the right reasons. I wish him all the best.

I'd always be careful on who to ring to get a bathroom fit.

A heating engineer might do 3 a year max
A plumber might only do 6 a year

When you want a bathroom fit, get a specialist bathroom fitter that fits them and only them regularly.

Bathrooms are tricky, and can easily look a bit poor if not installed by an expert who has an eye for detail.
