prince abdullah at sheff utd
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49759940" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.
says he would have happily done business with the bin laden family, and that some interest had been shown from them for acquiring shares, although it didn't come to anything .
seems an odd state of affairs when fans just have to take a back seat when deals are done, and ownership or part ownership could be associated with that family.

In regards to the fans, why is it odd that they have to take a backseat?
They wouldn't get involved in the running of any other business that they don't have shares in.

Its a massive family, with fingers in many pies. I don't see the story really.
Am i responsible if a sibling commits a crime i have no knowledge of the planning or execution of?

The US government and others, no doubt, have been involved in enterprises connected with this family. They're not all wrong 'uns - well, not when it comes to making money.

So you can't see anything wrong with a long established English club potentially owned by the Bin Ladens ?ZizkovClaret wrote:Its a massive family, with fingers in many pies. I don't see the story really.

I don't think that is fair on sheffield utd fans for starters, let alone the bad publicity it would bring from all quarters.
You and a sibling is hardly in the same bracket as this lot is it?

Re: prince abdullah at sheff utd
He's a business man, he does business with other businesses. Osama Bin Laden used his inheritance to cause carnage. His family, children apart, have always spoken against his acts.
I understand that in Muslim countries family includes 4th cousins 6 times removed etc. Which is why the Saudi royal family runs to thousands, unlike our own.
It seems an odd question for a journalist to put to him, unless he was looking to set him up, which is more than likely.

Though a significant proportion of the folks posting on here seem to believe that the BFC's Board and Manager should get their approval before making decisions,GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:In regards to the fans, why is it odd that they have to take a backseat?

Yeah that's true enough, they need to have a look at themselves about that, they usually look pretty stupid.AfloatinClaret wrote:Though a significant proportion of the folks posting on here seem to believe that the BFC's Board and Manager should get their approval before making decisions,

Don't see an issue with it, it's just a business like any other.Wile E Coyote wrote:So you can't see anything wrong with a long established English club potentially owned by the Bin Ladens ?

The bin Ladens are a massive dynasty, Osama was just one of the wrong 'uns.
He probably had more brothers and cousins than the average population of an English hamlet.

Regardsless of the voracity of where the money comes from it still shows there is still little transparency re football club finances
I would be seriously worried if it was Burnley being bought up by foreign investors. They are not all they seem as lots of clubs have found out to their cost.

No need for the description of Osama, we all know what he was but again it has little bearing on his family as a whole.Wile E Coyote wrote:yes of course he was, just a "wrong un" no problem whatsoever then having dealings with the cheeky scamps family.

A bit like saying Fred West's Grandad was an accessory to the crime because they were related.
