Re: Slow Thai
Imagine Hendrix and Sarah Brightman in one person. You really need to see her live to "get it" but yeahCnBtruntru wrote:Is she good?

Re: Slow Thai
I take it this is a Mercury Prize thread? I looked at the list this am & Anna Calvi, Cate Le Bon and Foals were the only ones Id ever heard of; Anna Calvi the only one I rated.
Somebody called Dave has just won, thought that was a TV station.
Anyway I like early Anna Calvi material though not so much her recent stuff. I expect her loss in Mercury Prize will be more than made up by her getting the Peaky Blinders gig for the current series.
My favourite of hers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKVy0EVu2ZI

Aye its a good one. I like Swimming Pool a lot, which is a self confessed "Come and get me" plea to the Bond producersLeadBelly wrote:I take it this is a Mercury Prize thread? Not got round to listening to Hunter album yet though Ive seen promo videos of a couple of tracks.
I got the first two albums and the Strange Weather EP but I felt her early material was best. Ive never seen her live, she didnt paly my neck of the woods in her early career and now plays bigger venues than I generally go to. I think she'd be good live though.

Saw her supporting Arctic Monkeys in Sheffield 2011. She was great. Gonna have a good listen to her.

Re: Slow Thai
I can only imagine it's Hendrix's crocheting skills and Brightman's leg spin she combines.ZizkovClaret wrote:Imagine Hendrix and Sarah Brightman in one person.
