Re: Leicester v Spurs
What a goal. Fouled outside the box and still manages to get his shot away whilst falling.
Re: Leicester v Spurs
That Kane goal is world class. Believe Lukaku scored a similar goal at the Turf for Everton a few years back.

2-1 Foxes. Madison.

Re: Leicester v Spurs
Questions have to be asked of Pochettino
With Alderweireld, Eriksen and possibly more looking likely to leave soon, Spurs’ “golden age” seems to be coming to its end - and they haven’t got a single trophy to show for it.

Maddison was class! The quality of his football is in inverse proportion to the appeal of his haircut. Such a shame, I’m sure he’ a lovely lad.

More questions need to be asked of Levy. Pochettino working with his hands tied. I think he’ll be gone next Summer, if not before.SGr wrote:Questions have to be asked of Pochettino

Re: Leicester v Spurs
Levy is a top class operator in football. He delivered a club record signing for a player who was attracting heavy interest from clubs above Tottenham's level. Spurs' recent form on the road is nothing short of appalling. The way I see it, they lack winners.Tricky Trevor wrote:More questions need to be asked of Levy. Pochettino working with his hands tied. Re: Leicester v Spurs
I’m not denying your point but Poch has been dropping hints all Summer that he has no say in signings also Tripps was saying last week that Levy had lied to him.SGr wrote:Levy is a top class operator in football. They're just being Spurs, play some good football, get some plaudits but ultimately fall short.
Re: Leicester v Spurs
That's what I mean though, after years of being average they assembled a squad with several world class players and were able to mount challenges for titles. It would be a golden age if they had actually won a few trophies to show for their quality and project. Given they don't have the financial clout of their competitors.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:Hardly a golden age.

Spurs are the only team in history to ever finish third in a two horse race!
The season Leicester won the title.

The spine of that team:Lloris, Eriksen, Kane are world class but are badly let down, for me, by Alderweireld and Vertonghen. They have made a reputation in an excellent Belgium team but are a long way from what pundits value them at. Far too many soft goals go in against Spurs.SGr wrote:That's what I mean though, after years of being average they assembled a squad with several world class players and were able to mount challenges for titles. Re: Leicester v Spurs
Disagree re: Lloris but Eriksen and Kane are certainly what I was getting at. I agree to an extent about those centre halves which does bring me back to the point I made earlier - they have a lot of lovely players in that side but no real "winners" so to speak. They lack serious leadership on the pitch when things go wrong.Tricky Trevor wrote:The spine of that team:Lloris, Eriksen, Kane are world class but are badly let down, for me, by Alderweireld and Vertonghen.
