Re: Can dogs tell
Dogs have a great sense of time.
When I looked after my old dogs (my parent's in reality) at my house they would wake up at exactly the time my Dad would get up and walk them.
Being more partial to a lie in than my Dad I'd tell the dog to wait and after half an hour I'd relent and get up and walk them.
Each of the three dogs we've owned would, on the second day, nudge me half an hour later and indicate it was time for their walk. Even after only a single day they were always accurate to 5 minutes or so.
It's easy to overestimate our own hound's intelligence but sense of time is definitely something they grasp.

I reckon my pooch has a Rolex hidden somewhere, I get the 'pity me' stare if I'm 5 mins late with lunch.

Never mind dogs...my goldfish know when it’s feeding time! I have the light coming on on a timer at 3pm and that’s when I feed them and without fail at 2.55pm everyday they are banging their heads on the side of the tank and wagging their fins in anticipation before the light comes on!

Dogs can be quite intelligent. Until they catch a glimpse of their own tail thinking it’s a python that has crawled up their arse and the lose their **** for around 10 minutes.
That’s why cats think they’re stupid.

8.45pm? Strange time to be feeding a dog. Guaranteed **** in the middle of the night if I fed my dog at such a late hour.

My dog needs a wee exactly the hour before I need to wake up.

Re: Can dogs tell
Me neither if the dog is upstairs I get the whine about 8am followed by the wet nose if I turn over and if that doesn’t work the little **** gives me a slap with his paw. 8am every morning even weekends. Same when it comes to 545pm time I usually get home from work if I’m not working and it hit 546 he’s pulling on his lead even if he’s been on a long walk during the day they love the routine.AndyClaret wrote:I don't need an alarm clock to get up in the morning.
They can be very smart with a lot of things but also daft as a brush with others but would be lost without mine
