Did a good job at Derby. Doing a good job at Chelsea. They play exciting attacking football. He’s English and there are very few Englishmen given the chance to manage top 6 clubs.

What’s not to like?

And he’s hardly wrong about Barnes, is he?

But will the next manager who finishes 6th in the Championship after doing a good job be offered one of the top jobs in English football?

Not a chance.

He was deflecting from his own player being booked for diving. All the top managers do it and he’s learning fast.

Tbh. I think the ginger genius may have been better not mentioning it yesterday, given the evidence of the push and the fact he was cautioned. It is possible he had not seen a replay of the push when commenting though....

Either way, I think Lampard was deflecting and ended up sounding like the game was a walk in the park for them, which it clearly wasn’t, and that Ashley Barnes was the anti christ. Good job he didn’t call him an anti footballer as we’d have a new chant for next week.

We can’t put Barnes up on a pedestal because of his shithousery then get all uppity when other managers point it out.

Explain “ Shithousery “ don’t understand.

He was deflecting criticism from his player, means condoning diving.

A touch on the back does not warrant a swan dive in the penalty area.

Watching the rugby makes you realise what a bunch of fairies footballers are.

There are some very good English managers around, but for some reason will get overlooked for the top jobs. Our manager being one of them.

I'm sure there are plenty of other English managers who could do just as good a job, if not better than Frank Lampard, but will never be given the chance.

A real shame.

Noticed this even more when Vydra came on - he just made himself a nuisance knowing he wouldn’t win an out and out header against their defenders.

It did make the defenders mess up a couple of times though or just head it anywhere as they had to actually think about what they were doing and what was around them as Vydra seemed to jump next to them and be ready for any sloppy ball falling.

I love Barnes but he is predictable in how he plays and against a better class of defender his “build up” game will quickly become nullified as we saw yesterday and against Liverpool.

Yep Barnesy struggles against players worth north of 40 million. This is what you get with Barnesy. An absolute steal for us and when he’s on form he is a world beater. He was very good for the first 6 games and has tailed off slightly...but he will be back no doubt going through another purple patch soon

Now 2 points behind man city, having lost the leagues best player and unable to sign any players, playing with a team of kids.

Well they did spend £60m on replacing Hazard so not quite as desperate as suggested. And they're 4 points worse off than this point last season even though loads suggested that Sarri was a bad manager.

Think the transfer ban did them a favour. Without it all those youngsters would have probably been farmed out on loan again.

Hazard wasn't even the best player at Chelsea, let alone the best in the league.

Great player. But not as good as Hazard although totally different type of player. Hazard won fans' player of the season and players' player of the season last season.

Hazard was clearly their best player but clearly had one hell of an ego. Remove a player like that and it can improve the whole dressing room.

What is “one hell of an ego” based on? Certainly no evidence I’ve seen he was a disruption in the dressing room.

Ego is a massive problem just look at players like Ronaldo and the negative effect he's had.

Here he is a year ago saying other players deserve the captaincy more than him.

Sounds like a real bad apple!!

He had added time due to their embargo.

He did a very good job first season, with no money to spend.
Last summers spending hasn't worked out as well though and he's utterly failed to get the best out of one of the inform strikers from Germany last season (sticking him out wide won't help) and this wonder kid who's their most expensive signing ever.

It's been a tough period for him and felt like it was only a matter of time. But it's shame because I want young English managers to succeed providing it's not at our expense.

A super player, decent individual. Not a lucky manager.
Utd gave Ferguson significantly more time to develop a team. He had however luck on his side - plus the class of 92. and something else to consider - CHARISMA
Lampard needs a mentor , I would suggest shadowing SD (who is so Charismatic.) for a season.

Maybe he jumped into the Chelski job before he had completed his apprenticeship with Derby.
