Places to take kids midweek

Post by claretnproud » Mon Sep 23, 2019 4:39 pm

Twins, a girl and a boy 20 months old. Any ideas, maybe 20 miles radius of Colne. Cheers.

The Red lion hotel in the centre of colne is quite welcoming and children are made to feel at home, but only until 8pm. The crack in wall is quite nice nowadays with a lovely beer yard out the back and I am pretty sure there allowed to stay in here until closing time. If you want something a bit more upmarket then you could try a few in the wetherspoons, again lovely beer yard and fantastic views from out the back, superb food as well.

The Leisure Box is free soft play during the week in term time. My 3 year old loves it.

The resident locals love the huge number of cars parked along the roadsides around Barley and welcome people with cheery waves and smiles :D

Yes, the Barley residents are such a friendly bunch. They always wave goodbye when I drive away. I think it's a wave. Maybe I should get my eyes tested.

If i was you i would seriously look at buying a campervan, the kids would love exploring it and drive out to Barley and enjoy the magnificent autumnal vistas, the best thing is you can stay there overnight and not pay a thing.

We already go to Barley a lot. I find the locals very friendly, even when blocking their drive and the kids dropping sweet papers everywhere. Lovely place.

Don't care where they go has long as you keep them out of the pubs where I go supping. Sick of kids running around the bar area and even some families putting the brats on the bar. Children should be seen a not heard, banned from the bar area and told to sit quietly or get out

Kids should be left in the car with a bag of crisps and a bottle of Lemonade... especially on a very hot day with the window open just a crack for ventilation.
