Firestick
I'm getting tired of getting up in the mornings, thinking of putting a television on my bedroom wall, would a Firestick pick up a signal and be a substitute for a plug in ariel, just thinking I could spend the rest of my life in bed.
Re: Firestick
No it wouldn't pick up a TV signal like an aerial, they work off a wireless internet connection.
You'd be able to watch iPlayer, Netflix etc and, if you got the right apps and subscription, live IPTV.

Get rid of all your televisions. Go for a walk in the morning, afternoon and evening. The air you breathe, the sights you see, the little interactions you have with people will make you want to make you get out of bedSteve1956 wrote:I'm getting tired of getting up in the mornings, thinking of putting a television on my bedroom wall, would a Firestick pick up a signal and be a substitute for a plug in ariel, just thinking I could spend the rest of my life in bed.

Re: Firestick
Live in your own world. Create your own world. Think of your world as only a few people. Even if that includes the postman/woman you see in a morning, a neighbour, so.eone you see on a walk in a park who has a dog, family. And when you feel comfortable expand that group by one or two. Dont watch the news, read papers, use social media, even open certain threads on here. Just live in your own bubble, slowly letting that bubble grow when you want it to, you controlling your world. Only let happiness exist within your bubble.Steve1956 wrote:The world is in a terrible state,it's not worth getting out of bed anymore.
Realistically in your frame of mind as it is at present there is no way you can effect change in the world on a scale that would alleviate your fears so why try. So only influence those little things which will benefit you

One of the best items to download is an app called firedl
Once you have that just Google fire dl codes to input into it.

Get yourself a VR head set... Just think you could wonder all over the world without leaving your bed...Steve1956 wrote:The world is in a terrible state,it's not worth getting out of bed anymore.
In the morning the Great Wall of China.
After lunch Penguins in Antarctica.
In the evening a show in Las Vegas.
Then at night a Hot Russian Babe to massage your Ego
Lets face it all that without getting out of bed
Hang on a minute that sounds ace where do you get VR head sets

I keep seeing this on Facebook. It's like adults are trying to blame kids for forcing them to use plastic bottles, driving to school, etc as if these children are somehow running the country. I bet there's not many 16 year olds out there who own a plastics factory.Steve1956 wrote:

This. How can a generation that changed the world we see bitch about kids living in it and bitching about the world as it is.aggi wrote:I keep seeing this on Facebook. It's not like this happened over night... in fact a lot of it changed 20/30 years ago when I was a kid.

So whilst the coffin dodgers who can label the current generation for being the problem. The problems began when your generation and the one before it first introduced/invented all these things in the first place.

Haha. Boomers burned coal until the earth melted but oh yes bring back the good old days.
Your nice friendly rapist who's on TV or a paedophile in the charts.
The good old days everyone.
We had no cure for a lot of diseases but God Damn it we were British.

I used to have a 4' Firestick (Antenna) on the boot of my Toyota Celica in the early 80's when I had a CB radio ffs ...
Spending time up on the tops in the early hours talking to people in the USA and around the world on AM Radio sets ... dodging police because they were illegal to use (but not to own strangely enough) yet advertising the fact with the rather conspicuous 4' Bright red Firestick Antennae.
All thinking we were extra's in Convoy and using stupid codes for where we were from and names
The police knew who we all were etc but turned a blind eye (we found out later)...
We used to have monthly get togethers and do treasure hunts and stuff like Sunday convoy trips to Blackpool in the summer.....
We helped find a youngster who had gone missing getting praise from the police we thought were after us
Funny how a Firestick brings back memories from 40 years ago

Look, the 1950s and early 60s generation are to blame for nothing and fought both wars. They had to make do with jobs for life, affordable houses, retirement at 55, free university education, free bus passes, prescriptions. They endured mortgage rates at 15% for about five minutes in 1987.
They are owed an enormous debt from everyone who followed and boy are they making sure every penny is repaid and yet still have these almost childlike pops at millennials.

Yes you can watch tv on a fire stick using your broadband wireless. Several apps will allow you to do this. Use google and find one that suits you

The Celica I am talking about was a 1972 one cost £120 quid and was rather tatty (but quite rapid)Steve1956 wrote:Toyota? Brilliant cars had a Corolla,Rav,Aygo,Yaris, and an IQ....brilliant cars.
Same model as below We loved it because the rear windows dropped and it became a pillarless coupe and we were the "Dukes of Hazard"

Steve1956, Twatt is a very common surname on one of the Scottish Isles. You don’t want to be upsetting them, with your use of the word.
