No excuses, plenty of money to arrange taxis or suitable methods of transport.

Far too common with footballers.

Brains are not at the top of the needs of being a Footballer...
It also doesn't say whether the cars were belonging to each of them ... I would presume they do as they are both up for DD... Thick as mince the pair of them

They both crashed together, were breathalysed together, and were arrested and charged together.

I wonder if they were racing one and other?

I'm assuming both players were in one car, if that's correct what about the driver and any passengers in the other car, were they injured. Typical journo's. 20 years ago a custodial sentence was almost inevitable in a situation like this,
these days it's a ban, a fine and a rap on the knuckles.

When will they ever stop driving cars more powerful than their driving ability even before alcohol is involved.

If they are both being charged, I very much doubt they were in the same car Beddie m8

As Lord Beamish and Bosscat say - two (high-spec) cars = two players = one in each car,

On face value difficult to believe this of two highly paid professional athletes - but on reflection not that difficult.

If they were in the same car, breathalysing the pair of them will make it impossible for the drunken driver to claim the other, sober bloke was driving.
One or both can be charged in the event of neither owning up, I assume.
