A Brexit Parallel!
A Brexit Parallel!
For all those who think the Brexit vote was the vote of the people and should be honoured.
The public voted for the name Boaty McBoatface for an Antarctic bound ship. It looked to have been adopted until today it was 'officially named and launched', as the Sir Richard Attenborough.
The sop is that Boaty McBoatface has been used to name some yellow submarine, that won't be seen above water.
A parallel universe?

I see Johnson was also involved in this travesty of democracy - his brother Jo Johnson.
I'm not sure but I think David Attenborough's real name was Boaty McBoatface but he changed it be deed poll so as not to look a pratt.

I presume IanMcL will be going to the ship's namers, negotiating a deal on a compromise name, and then coming back and voting either for or against it, he's not quite sure yet. He'll tell us in a few months when Sheamus Milne decides what to do ...

Re: A Brexit Parallel!
The renaming is null and void. Boaty McBoatface is the rightful boaty name. Sir Richard the actor muscled in and burst into tears and Sir David can only so voiceovers, nowadays, so they are both out. The Beatles have complained, particularly Paul McBoatney, but it seems a revote was out of the question, as Boaty is due to leave Europe but is going into the extreme cold, so he will have to travel alone, as no one has the stomach for it.Clarets4me wrote:I presume IanMcL will be going to the ship's namers, negotiating a deal on a compromise name, and then coming back and voting either for or against it, he's not quite sure yet.
