JBG gonna have to fight his way back into the team now. The shirt is Hendricks to lose for now.

Same line up as against Norwich for me. (If all available.)

I'm a big fan of JBG but I would like to see Hendrick keep his place on the right of midfield, it gives us a better balance than having two outright wide players.

It's funny that in the US there is an unwritten rule in sports that you dont lose your starting spot due to injury. Basically once you're healthy enough you go back in the starting lineup... I think JbG slots back in

For an away game, I think he will stick with Hendrick with JBG on the bench.

Some players are good enough to walk straight back into a starting eleven after an injury.
I like JBG but he does not fall into that category. He’s had a pretty inconsistent 15 months now - partly because of his injuries. But in my view there is no way that Jeff deserves to be dropped this week....and I don’t think he will be either.

A fan of JBG but based on last Saturday Hendrick has to start.

Brady, JBG, Jay & Vydra is definitely a bench that has a lot of good attacking threat if needed

JBG is our most frustrating player. On form a big asset but he does get a lot of minor injuries that keep him out.

This. We get found out playing two out and out wingers in a 4-4-2 at this level. Same team, for me.

What a great position to be in. Two very accomplished players to choose from. Have to go with Hendrick on this occasion as the man in form.

Like others have said we should stick with Hendrick and the same starting 11 has last Saturday.

JBG just doesn't do it for me, he his far to inconsistent. He lacks pace and can only check back or do link up play, you need more at this level.

"Only checks back or links play"; surely this is a better description of Lennon rather than JBG.He can cross with his right, as we have seen on several occasions. He has quick feet , a decent shot and scores.Tackling is his weakness but he is a winger after all.

Hi Ashevile, does this apply to 11-a-side soccer teams, or is this some of those American sports?

You pick your best team, every time, if available. Best may vary depending on the opposition and other factors. Jeff has earned the shirt for Saturday - and I'd love him to keep earning it for several weekends.

JBG is one of my favourite players, but for me Hendrick starts. He has been fantastic since moving to right midfield.

I agree. I am a huge fan, BUT his numerous niggling injuries have robbed him (and us) of lots of probable appearances in the past 18 months and when he is fit he needs a run of games to get back to his best and that never seems to happen these days as he's either a sub or gets another knock. I actually feel he lost something after his injury against Lincoln and hasn't quite posed the same threat since. The way things are he's slipped down the pecking order and I can't see him getting a start barring injuries at present and that's a shame. If SD rates him behind Lennon for example, it's criminal imo, but I suspect right now he does.

JBG started every game before his latest injury which suggests SD has him ahead of Lennon. The problem with JBG is his injuries. Apart from one run of games in 2017/18 it's been stop/start for him in all his three seasons at Burnley.

but fit or not, I can't imagine him starting tomorrow.

Out of interest do you know what his longest run of starts for us is? As you say, those niggling little injuries are very frustrating

Its mostly baseball but back in 2000 or so, tom brady was a backup and only started because the starter was out 4 games due to injury. Belichek went with brady because he was playing well and it was kind of a big deal at the time.
Incase no one gets this reference, it's to american football. Tom brady will probably go down as the best quarterback of all time but only started due to an injury.

I think JBG will replace Vydra and we have Lennon JBG Brady Rodriguez Taylor Gibson/Long and Hart on the bench

And of course the same starting 11

Great goal.. He is rarely fit and doesn't do it enough.

Hendrick gives us more and can play 40 plus games a season

He had a run of 21 successive league starts from October 2018 to March 2019 and his next best run was eight games during last season from September to November.
