Pope 6 one top save, however thought he could have done better with their 2nd
Lowton 7 what a cross for the 2nd equaliser
Tarky 7 did well
Mee 7 as above
Peiters 6 got an assist but wasnt tight enough on a few occasions, question Mark's over their 1st goal
Hendrick 5 quiet, 1 golden chance
Cork 4 very poor today from him.
Westwood 6 average game
McNeil 5 got scared in the build up for their 2nd, created little, looked light in the tackle and lost possession quite a lot
Barnes 4 as bad a first half you'll see from him
Wood 5 gets the important goal, but as Barnes first half was shocking

J-Rod 6 great header looked sharp and looked to play football

After the first half I'd have snapped your hand off at a point, an no surprise we got goals when getting the ball out wide rather than 75 yard long balks up to the forwards.

Good result, very average display.

Like Brighton, one we got away with, but would take a point from these games every time.

Edit - meant quiet 1 for Jeff, not 1 as in the score.

Pope 6 could have done better with second goal which went thru his legs
Lowton 6
Tarks 7
Mee 7
Pieters 6 ( inc 2 for 2 great crosses,1 missed by Wood and 1 scored by JRod)
Hendrick 5 Not involved in first half
Cork 6
Westwood 7
Mcneil 6
Barnes 6 could have seen red. His closing down was missed after he was subbed
Wood 6 missed a great chance in first

JRod 5 Decent finish but otherwise very quiet. Could have had a red in last 2 minutes
Brady 5

Luton Town 10

Pope 6 some decent saves second one went through him, well hit though.
Lowton 6 - targeted in first half and struggled a bit. Cross hit into their player led to first goal
Tarky 8 - commanding
Mee 8 - ditto
Pieters 8 - set one goal up and planted another on Wood's head. A bit loose on Trezeguet especially for second goal.
Hendrick 6 - more in it second half. A bit lost in the first.
Cork 6 - worked hard but let Villa control first half
Westwood 7 - same as Cork in first half but put himself about better in second half was fulcrum in middle.
McNeil 7 - decent game and hit the bar looked good in the three.
Wood 7 - great header but missed sitter in first half much improved in second half
Barnes 6 - needless booking for trapping off worked hard and found more space in second half in front three

Jayrod 7 - one of our own great goal and made a positive difference
Brady 6 - defended well especially one headed clearance he bravely flicked behind

Pope 6
Lowton 6
Tarks 7
Mee 8 **
Pieters 6 (giving him one extra for his crosses. Too often poor at the back. Especially 1st half)

Hendrick 6
Cork 5
Westwood 5
McNeil 7

Barnes 5
Wood 6

Forgot Jay! 7

Good point in the end. Bitty game but looked better 2nd half. Not like us to be as undisciplined as we were though.

Pope 6 sleeping for their 2nd didn’t fully get position he would have liked , good kicking .
Lowton 6 poor 1st half decent cross , needs upgrading
Tarks 8 very commanding good skill ,though must realise he’s not Maldini .
Mee 7 great headers though exposed at times
Pieters 6 inc 1 for cross . At fault for their 2nd, Taylor please
Hendrick 6 invisible 1st half better 2nd
Cork 5 half time sub
Westwood 6 grafted
Mcneil 5 not at the races today
Barnes 5 soso and could have been sent off worked hard
Wood 6 +1 for goal missed good chance , took goal well average

JRod 7 nice goal and though only scraps to feed on was lively
Brady 5 too late to impact

Awful 1st half and just average in 2nd. Very poor for their 2nd .Kept at it though .

Pieters was getting hammered by the commentators on the stream I watched for not getting close enough and not stopping the cross.

Pope 6 - average. Maybe should have done better for their 2nd.

Lowton 5 - where was he for their second but then created ours.
Tarky 7
Mee 7
Peiters 4 - woeful one cross aside.

Hendrick 5
Cork 3 - will Dyche drop him given what DD has been up too. Probably not. But he was really poor today.

From NBCSN live coverage:
Pope 7 - Kicking has improved.
Lowton 7
Tarka 8
Mee 7
Pieters 6 (+1 for determination in getting in the cross for Jay's goal, seemed very hesitant first half)
Hendrick 6
Cork 6
Westy 6
McNeil 6 - Unlucky with the free kick
Barnes 6 - Just seemed annoyed all game
Wood 7 - Lovely header after he set up the goal with pass outside before continuing run into box, but should have connected with the angled cross that gave him a close-range chance in the first half..
JayRod 7 - Getting more confident.

Very happy with the point, and to have the determination to keep going and come from behind again. Patchy first half, better after half time shuffle, and like Brighton leaves me feeling positive. UTC

Lowton 6
Tarky 7

Pieters 5

Hendrick 7
Cork 5

Barnes 6 excellent out wide in the 2nd half
Wood 7

I think i went to different game than those who have given Pieters and Wood 7s and even an 8 !! They were both shocking today . Pieters at fault for both goals , he doesn't close down and gives the opponent far to much room . As for Wood , he couldn't pass or trap a bag of cement today and as for his "air header " in the first half !!! As for the Burnley fans today , a big fat 10 .

Good point and goals well taken . Wood should have scored from a Pieters cross first half but made up with second goal

Pope 6
Lowton 6
Mee 7
Tarks 8-stood up well to pressure in second half
Pieters 6, gives ball away at times, at fault for a goal, but technically made two. I like his toughness and steel. See why SD keeps him in team
McNeil 7 -came into the midfield 3 second half
Hendrick 7-I think he played well
Cork 6-knew when he went down he looked in pain. Maybe should have come off earlier
Westwood 7-thought he looked our best midfielder, industrious as ever, and great goal from the half way but a free kick had been given
Wood 6-could have scored early on and can look clumsy but saved us a point with a good header
Jay 7-ran his socks off, and a great headed goal.Hope he gets more game time

It’s quite remarkable how Pieters is currently 3rd in the list of defenders and 20th in the list of all players in the Fantasy football stats.....

Watched live on tv. JRod must have looked a lot better at the game judging by the marking on here. Did well with his goal and could have had s red for bad foul on Grealish but otherwise didn’t seem to be involved.

Pope 7
Lowton 6 - Poor for their second goal with the man coming in at the back post. Looked exposed at times, and some poor cross attempts. On the plus side he did make a couple of good interceptions.
Tarkowski 7 - Looked solid, although looked close to losing it near the end.
Mee 7 - One last gap tackle to stop the through ball and looked solid all game.
Pieters 6 (+1 for the assist) - Has had a few good games for us previously, but today, not sure why, but he was giving endless space to the wingers running at him. He looked very suspect.
Hendrick 5 - First half I think I might have been able to count on one hand the number of touches he had. A bit better second half, but not a patch on last week.
Cork 5 - Not a lot to say, didn't do an awful lot before being subbed.
Westwood 6 - Struggled first half, but definitely more involved second half.
McNeil 6- Think he is still improving defensively. One belting free kick that rattled the cross bar, but just wanted him to pick up that ball and terrorise them.
Barnes 5 - Silly booking, but Mings got away with climbing all over him all game. Never really got into it.
Wood 6 (+1 for the goal) - I am starting to dread the ball getting to Wood anywhere outside the Box. The number of times he completely fluffed his first touch today was amazing. That said he took his chance well.

Rodriguez 6 - Did well with the goal, but got turned inside a couple of times and just gave it up.

Very little changes on here where Hendrick is concerned. He'd have to score a minimum of 10 goals a season to be rated as "bang average".

I think folk are underestimating the physical battle that played out all afternoon. Not to mention the inept, biased b'tard to whom someone gave a whistle. He added a man for them and saw nothing...unless it was possible to reward them.

Two excellent goals as well. Piers got that cross in at known physical risk to himself. Very brave.

Hats off to them all. Proud to be a Claret.

Serious question. How do you come to a logical score today when scoring both our full backs? Both by and large were garbage, but both get an assist with sublime balls into the box

Pope 6

Lowton 6
Tarky 8
Mee 7
Peiters 6

Hendrick 6
Cork 4
Westwood 6
McNeil 6

Barnes 6
Wood 8 (+1) MOM

J-Rod 7

At the end of the day it's a cracking point. I can easily see us around 10th this season

Pope 8*-Kept us in the game in the first half. The only one to come off with any credit at half time.
Lowton 6-He can put in a good cross but defensive frailties are all too evident IMO.
Tarkowski 8-Good solid game.
Mee 8-As above for Tarks
Pieters 6- Villa's targeted our left flank as a weakness yesterday, especially in the 1st half.
Hendrick 6-Can gain possession but then becomes very indecisive with distribution and give ball away too cheaply.
Westwood 6-Battled hard but for me he had a poor game. We were over-ran at times in midfield.
Cork 6-Tenacious as ever. Hope injury isn't too serious.
McNeil 4-Biggest disappointment of the season so far for me. We've only seen glimpses of what he can do thus far.
Barnes 6-Battled hard but picked up a stupid booking that impacted on the rest of his game. Relieved when he was subbed.
Wood 6-First half not at the races and missed what looked a very good chance. 2nd half a lot more productive.

Rodriguez 6-Took a while to get into the game but got in position well for the goal.

That's weird as pieters didn't close down the cross for both goals

Didn’t for first, not sure there was much he could do on second.

Didn’t Trezeguet beat him easily to cross the ball for McGinn ? So maybe he should have been able to put a challenge in .

He did but I think it was more that it was good play from the Villa player. But you can look at both full backs for both goals yet they then get the assists for our goals.

Don't really understand a lot of the lower scores...

Pope. 7. Don't blame him for the second goal, thought he generally did well
Lowton. 6. Struggled defensively but what an assist
Mee. 8. Took care of Wesley all afternoon. Mom
Tarks. 8. Many critical interventions
Pieters. 6. Very poor closing down several times
Hendrick. 7. So good without the ball
Westwood. 6. Industrious but overshadowed by Villa
Cork. 6. See Westwood
Wood. 7. Some very nice holding play
Barnes. 5. Poor, lucky not to see red
McNeil. 6. Showed promise but didn't really deliver
Rodriguez. 6. Nice goal

It appears not but why is Lowton ignoring McGinn?
