Our style of play
Our style of play
Starting to get on my nerves now, that opposing Managers and players seem to be excusing their inadequacies by continually having a go at how we set up to play...really dont get it

They don't get it either, and therein lay their problem. We expose their inadequacies and theyewanrob wrote:Starting to get on my nerves now, that opposing Managers and players seem to be excusing their inadequacies by continually having a go at how we set up to play...really dont get it
don't like it.
It's their problem, not ours.

Ignore them, they are full of you know what. Farke was good last week but is the exception to the rule

Re: Our style of play
We can play and we can play well.
What we are very good at is making other teams do stuff they don't like doing, and it gets on the tits of opposition managers, fans and players.
And its ace.
Long may it continue

Re: Our style of play
Poor dears. They’d much rather blame us than admit they’re not good enough, or their tactics didn’t work.

Since when was “getting the ball wide and putting balls on the box” deemed to be an unattractive style of play anyway??

Re: Our style of play
The thing with the likes of Villa is that as they have allegedly played brilliantly in every game and ended up with only one win they see games against us as must wins...they then play the game and don’t win and the pressure goes up another notch. This gives them the ammunition to blame our style of play, clutching at straws around decisions for our goals etc etc in fact anything but looking in the mirror at their pi55 poor ability to control a game.

I find it rather amusing that opposition managers basically admit they are not very good/don’t do their jobs properly when they state ‘we knew what to expect’

Re: Our style of play
Same old same old. Norwich were a classic case last week, followed by Villa yesterday.
Managers, their Advisors, their Players, their Fans (even the dud in the Mascot suit) know how we play. Set pieces and balls delivered, very accurately, into the six yard box for a nod-down are our stock-in-trade. To fail to deal with that speaks volumes for their ineptitude.

Very effective and much more than a long ball game,I don’t think any side relishes playing us when we are at it.

Always amuses me to read the comments section after the Match report on the BBC website. Some of the deluded opinions on there are hilarious at times. As for dean smiths comments about crosses into the box, weren't both of their goals and the bar one all from crosses? No mention anywhere of all the injury feigning that went on yesterday like being knocked unconcious by a ball on the nose!

Re: Our style of play
Q. Why would you sulk at how the other team plays?
A. Because you don't have enough about you to counteract it.
That simple. People get pi**ed off when they just can't understand it. Fans complain about our style, but not many know how to defend it. Sure - we get it wrong sometimes, but if it wasn't good enough we wouldn't any longer be in the Premier League.

I get your point but we've done ok against Arsenal over the yearsFactualFrank wrote:Q. Why would you sulk at how the other team plays?

Re: Our style of play
Well, I guess it does spill into that. I find it's mainly the younger fans who complain every time the starting lineup is announced - regardless. But yeah, an opposing manager must be either annoyed or just can't admit they have been matched/beaten by tactics. Which I think is a very poor do.Devils_Advocate wrote:Ah sorry I thought you was on about how our fans complain and sulk about how teams like Arsenal play when they beat us
Re: Our style of play
Smith's comment on our first goal, " it's a foul to us, another long ball, then an elbow on our player"
I'm amazed that some people dont have a filter, in that be careful what I say as I might come across as a bit of an arse.

Re: Our style of play
Since Burnley were promoted they have managed to take a bunch of Championship strikers, Ings, Gray, Vokes, Barnes and Wood and they have all achieved double figures in an EPL season except for Gray who was one short.
So the "style of play "is tailored pretty much to what the club has at its disposal and most importantly it's effective.

Re: Our style of play
Must admit I complain about Arsenal but that’s because they are the worst cheats in the PL.
As far as our style goes I’ve said many times if you can’t beat us shut the f*ck up and stop making excuses. Villa and Norwich both play pretty football. Let’s see where they end up at the end of the season.

Dean Smith was laughable. Proper sour grapes. As if Wimbledon had just turned over Barcelona.corporal jones wrote:Always amuses me to read the comments section after the Match report on the BBC website.
